Fans angry after thinking Met Gala scrapped one of its rules for the Kardashians

The Met Gala has some pretty strict rules and fans have wondered if one of them was broken

When it comes to the Met Gala there are some pretty strict rules in place, which the celebrities have to follow, but fans were worried that one of them had been scrapped for the Kardashians.

In total there's five main rules that the celebrities at the Met Gala's red carpet have to follow, and they're pretty simple - though some are tougher to enforce than others.

The biggest one is 'no selfies', there's cameras all over the place so nobody heading for the main event should be worried about not getting any snaps to put in the album.

Obviously this one gets broken all the time as you'll see plenty of celebrity selfies from the event.

Then there's the 'no smoking' rule, which is based in respect for the rules of New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art where smoking and vaping are both banned, plus it's been illegal to smoke indoors in New York since 2003.

That one also gets broken from time to time, in 2017 Bella Hadid, Dakota Johnson and Marc Jacobs were caught smoking in the toilets at the Met Gala, while this year Doja Cat was spotted vaping on the red carpet.

Certain foods aren't allowed around the place either, with parsley banned because it might get stuck in some celebrity teeth and ruin their pictures, while smelly foods like onions and garlic are also off the table, along with dishes that might spill on someone.

Seating arrangements are pretty strict too, with a lot of work going into figuring out which famous people will be seated next to each other.

However, there's one other rule that fans thought Kim Kardashian had broken this year and that's the age limit rule.

Since 2018, you've had to be aged 18 or older to get into the Met Gala, but this year Kardashian was spotted making her way to the event with nine-year-old daughter North West in tow.

Some Met Gala fans were not happy at the idea that the rules might be bent.

Some fans wondered if this meant Kim would be taking her daughter along with her on the red carpet and weren't happy at this idea.

One said, 'tell me you have privilege without telling me you have privilege smfh', while another insisted the Met Gala 'better not change the rules' on age restrictions to make this one exception.

Someone else said: "Honestly I’m inclined to believe if there was any child Anna [Wintour] would make an exception to her 18+ rule at the Met Gala it’s North West who she’s known since birth."

However, it looks like the age limit on the Met Gala is still in place as when Kardashian arrived on the red carpet North West did not go in with her.
