Mark Hamill has warned fans he’s done with playing Luke Skywalker.

While the Star Wars universe keeps expanding, don’t expect the 71-year-old to return anytime soon - not even for a flashback sequence.

Hamill, who played the famous Jedi from 1977 to 1983 in the original trilogy, reprised his role in The Rise of Skywalker in 2017.

He returned as Luke again in the season two finale of The Mandalorian, but was de-aged to look like his younger self.

However, during an interview on CBS News’ Sunday Morning, the actor was asked if he would ever play the character again.

“Well, you never say never, but I just don’t see any reason to, let me put it that way,” he began.

“I mean, they have so many stories to tell, they don’t need Luke anymore.”

Disney has confirmed a new trilogy of Star Wars films would be developed, separate from the main story arc of previous films in the franchise.

While little is known about the movies so far, one of the films would follow the founding of the Jedi, and another would see Daisy Ridley return as Jedi Rey.

Disney

According to Disney, the events will be set after The Rise of Skywalker and focus on Rey rebuilding the Jedi Order in a new Star Wars era.

The third film will be set in the present day and follow an escalating war between the Imperial Remnant and the emergence of the New Republic.

No release dates have been confirmed as of yet.

But not to worry, as there are endless Disney+ series set on the horizon, including The Mandalorian season four, Skeleton Crew, Andor season two and Lando.

Recently, Disney also unveiled the first look into the upcoming show Ahsoka, a spin-off series from The Mandalorian, which stars Rosario Dawson as Ahsoka Tano, a Togruta female who was the Padawan learner to Anakin Skywalker and a hero of the Clone Wars.

In the series, Ahsoka investigates an emerging threat to the galaxy following the fall of the Empire.

On a panel at London’s Star Wars Celebration in April, Dawson teased of the character: “Though she is not a Jedi, she has so much of that at heart for her - she’s driven by trying to do good.

“She sees a threat other people aren’t seeing. She’s formidable, not somebody to take lightly. She has a sense that there’s something, she knows that these foes are not easily dismissed.”

Ashoka also stars Natasha Liu Bordizzo, Mary Elizabeth Winstead and the return of Hayden Christensen as Anakin Skywalker.

It’s set to be released sometime in August this year.
