Kim Kardashian Shares 'Awkward' First Interaction With Pete Davidson

Kim Kardashian has recently revealed some behind-the-scenes details of one of her first interactions with Pete Davidson, her current boyfriend following her divorce from Kanye West.

The two seemingly highly contrasting individuals have been the brunt of many questions, theories and memes in the short six months that they've been together.

Many fans speculate that the start of Kim and Pete's relationship started way back in October of last year, following Kim's appearance in an episode of SNL where they share a kiss in an Aladdin and Princess Jasmine sketch.

Yet, the Keeping Up With The Kardashians star maintains that she and Pete's initial spark was a month prior to this sketch at the Met Gala.

On the Not Skinny But Not Fat podcast, Kim joined host Amanda Hirsch to reveal the details of the pair's start of their relationship. The 41-year old started chronologically saying, “Well, I knew him [before SNL] and I saw him at the Met.

“He knew I was hosting SNL, but it wasn’t announced yet, and so he came up to me and we were talking about SNL,” she added.

In the podcast, Kim looks back on her iconic all-black head-to-toe Balenciaga outfit and how her fashion choices of the evening actually made their Met Gala interaction far from smooth.

“He was like, ‘Take my number if you need anything'. And I had gloves on and I couldn't get in my phone with the gloves, and I was like, ‘Oh I have gloves! And I can’t —.’ And he was like, ‘All right cool,’ and walked away.”

While it definitely seemed like an extremely awkward moment, Kardashian follows up her initial embarrassment as she relays that she later found out that Pete had been trying on multiple occasions before the Met Gala to get her number after he caught wind of her divorce from Kanye.

Kim explained, “His story is that he had been asking around for my number, and everyone wasn’t sure, you know, ‘Is she going through a divorce?’ and he just wanted to wait a little bit."



After some more talk about how Pete didn't want to be filmed for KUWTK and how the two didn't see each other at all during the week of rehearsals running up to the SNL show, Kim admits that: “When we kissed, I was like, ‘hmm'.

“It was a stage kiss, but it was still like a little…zing, you know? It wasn’t anything like a super-crazy feeling, I was just like, ‘hmm',” the Instagram influencer added.

In the podcast, Kim briefly opened up about her highly publicised and contentious divorce from Kanye back in February of last year, revealing: "We went about eight months without even speaking to each other at the beginning of the divorce.”

Even with the backlash and chaos following her divorce with Kanye, the six-month-old couple seem to still be going strong and were seen cuddling together on Kim's Instagram with the post captioned: "late nite snack."
