Goldie Hawn has X-rated explanation to why her relationship with Kurt Russell has lasted so long

The actress wasn't shy to get into the nitty gritty of this relationship salvaging activity

Goldie Hawn wasn’t shy about highlighting a pillar of her relationship with husband Kurt Russell, while speaking at a charity event last week.

While everyone dolls out relationship advice, if the person in question has been with their partner for decades, it might be worth lending an ear.

Actress Goldie Hawn has been with actor Kurt Russell for over 40 years and has explained one of the key reasons the relationship has worked for so many decades.

Speaking last week at the MindUp’s Goldie Hawn Foundation charity event in Los Angeles, the actress offered up some simple relationship advice.

The actress explained how important it was to ensure a relationship could stand the test of time and, to be honest, it does make perfect sense.

Speaking frankly, she said: “You have to have good sex.

“Sex is something that connects you and creates more belonging.

“People who have healthy sexual relationships usually last a lot longer.”

But before you go on thinking the 78-year-old actress is just one track-minded, she clarified the act itself isn't the only important thing, but rather the ‘warmth and the intimacy’.

She also noted that there were other important aspects to a lengthy and healthy relationship outside of the bedroom.

“You have to be nice to each other upon occasion,” she jokingly added.

“You don’t think the same oftentimes,”

“And you have to accept that, but you have to measure: ‘Are we having fun, or is this something we want to do? Do we have laughs together?'

“'Do we share certain things?’ You don’t have to share everything. We have a lot of expectations, I think, around relationships, but you have to like the person. That’s very important.”

While this isn’t exactly groundbreaking advice, it can be overlooked from time to time and Hawn likely does know what she is talking about.

The actress has been with Kurt Russell since 1983, after they reconnected while filming for the film Swing Shift.

While Hawn is pretty forthcoming with relationship advice, Russell seems to be a little more reserved.

In an interview with US weekly he said: “I am the last person in the world to think I should give advice to anybody. It’s just a day to day.

Speaking of his other half he added: “She is always my priority. We’re ‘of the moment’ people. We just kind of say, ‘What do you feel like? What do you want to do? Do you want to watch something?’”
