Adele has FaceTimed fans after she announced her tour is having to be rescheduled due to COVID-19.

The singer tearfully took to Instagram to apologise to fans for having to reschedule her tour, and subsequently postponing her Las Vegas residency - Weekends With Adele - which was set to begin on Friday, January 21 at Caesar's Palace.

Adele explained that she was having to postpone the performances as a result of the show simply not being 'ready,' because of the impact of coronavirus on members of the crew and 'delivery delays'.

However, alongside posting a heartfelt apology and explanation on her social media, the 33-year-old also chatted with some of her fans via FaceTime on the day the concert was due to take place.

The singer cancelled her first performance less than 24 hours before it was set to go ahead, telling fans that her and her team had 'tried absolutely everything we can to put it together and in time and for it to be good enough for you, but we've been absolutely destroyed by delivery delays and COVID'.

Adele noted how 'half' of her crew and team had contracted the virus and it was subsequently 'impossible to finish the show,' which she was 'gutted' to have to tell her fans 'so last minute'.

Although, on Friday night, fans continued to gather at the venue and the Easy on Me singer FaceTimed them to promise those who had travelled to Las Vegas for the show would receive free merchandise and even a free meet-and-greet with her to try and make up for her cancelled performance, Variety reports.

One fan, Dominic Crisonino, took to Instagram to post a video of his call with Adele. He wrote: 'I literally was just on FaceTime with @adele!! WHAT IS LIFE.'

The video shows Dominic asking Adele how she is, and saying what a 'shock' it is to see her.

Dominic can be heard explaining that he was set to wear a sequin blazer and feathery bow tie to the concert, but he noted 'I will wear it eventually'.

On the call, Adele admits how 'sad' she is on what was meant to be her opening night, before asking where her fans are from, to which Dominic explains that he's come from New York.

In response to the singer's apology for not making it, Dominic stated: 'No worries. We love you. You do what you gotta do. We know when the time comes it's going to be exceptional and we'll be here cheering you on.

'You can't put pressure on yourself for things that are out of your control, and like, people want to say things, but you have to know that you're doing what you have to do for yourself,' he noted.

Dominic then reassured the singer that she would be performing for everyone soon, and that all her fans would 'love it when the times comes'. 'You just have to focus on the positive, because it's so easy to get lost in the negative,' he said.

'You can tell that you're genuine, and that you care, and that you were really affected by having to cancel. And sh*t happens, you know, we're living in scary times,' the fan resolved.

The singer has not yet revealed the new dates for her tour, however she promised there will be 'more info coming soon'.

Taking to Twitter, Adele reflected: 'I have the best fans in the world! Your graciousness and love tonight is overwhelming! Thank you.'
