If you've been on your PlayStation recently, you may have become of the unlucky individuals to have their accounts suspended.

Many people's suspension comes without cause, and it's safe to say that people aren't happy about it.

Hundreds have taken to social media to ask what the heck is going on, especially as some have found that they're unable to appeal it and haven't gotten anywhere with customer service.

One aggrieved gamer tweeted yesterday (December 4): "Without any notice, @PlayStation/@AskPlayStation permanently banned me from the #PlayStation Network. No one knows why! I don't have a chargeback, I can't appeal & no response to suspension status. CS says to create a new account & disconnected me."

People his tweet, the X-user shared the message he received.

It read: "This account is permanently suspended from PlayStation Network due to violations of the PlayStation Network Terms of Service and User Agreement."

PlayStation users took to X to voice their grievances.

Another person tweeted in the early hours of this morning: "@PlayStation my PSN account was suspended about an hour ago with no email or notification other than a popup when I tried to log in. I am confused why my account has been suspended, but this seems to be an issue that a lot of players are having today. Please help me!"

"Anybody else having trouble with their PlayStation account? I’m getting a message saying I’m permanently suspended and I have no idea why," wrote a third.

"I would really like an explanation from @PlayStation as to why my account was permanently suspended?" questioned another.

"No email was sent, no explanation was provided. We’ve spent a lot of money with you and this is how you treat your customers. It’s completely unprofessional and unfair."

Elsewhere, someone else described themselves as 'devastated'.

Gamers have been left unable to access their accounts.

They penned on Reddit: "I’m affected here and I’m currently devastated. So much progress and games lost. All indications is this is a bug but without assurances/eta for resolution it’s brutal."

In the hours that followed, some people have said that their accounts are up and running again - but it remains unclear is this is the case for everyone experiencing issues.

PlayStation has been active on its socials since the reports, but are yet to comment on the ordeal or reply to anyone's messages on X.

UNILAD has contacted Sony for a response.
