NASA releases clearest footage of Mars 140,000,000 miles away and everyone's saying the same thing

The Curiosity rover footage immediately had people getting reflective and thinking about things here on Earth

People are losing their minds after viewing a video footage of Mars but are still mystified by one thing here on Earth.

Humanity has long been dreaming of getting closer to Mars, but while we haven't yet put a person on the red planet, we are getting closer to that goal.

Impressively, the brightest minds have been able to put rovers on the planet and this has allowed scientists to get a better grasp on what the planet’s surface is like.

A video showcasing the shape of Mars' dunes has begun to circulate on social media with Reddit users remarking that the footage is amazing.

According to Cosmos magazine, the images were captured in December 2015 by NASA's Curiosity Rover on Namib Dune in the Bagnold Dune Field.

One person commented: “Walked into my back yard last night to watch the parade of planets. After years of Mars unmanned exploration, it’s still mind blowing to see these crystal clear images coming from that tiny red dot high in the sky.”

And a second user commented: “These worlds are like waiting to be observed, discovered, adored, painted, photographed.”

However, a lot of users couldn’t help but point out one thing.

And no this isn’t leading to a grand Martian conspiracy theory but rather a simple observation.

That being that we are able to get clear footage of Mars 140 million miles away, but security footage still struggles to give us enough detail to identify anyone.

Another person commented: “But can’t get a decent picture of a person committing a crime on Earth.”

With another agreeing and adding: “Yet, my front yard camera can't clearly see license plates or faces 20ft away.”

And a third writing: “And yet your bank has cameras from 1954.”

And yet another person added: “And yet surveillance cams on Earth are actual dogwater.”

It is safe to say most people have been saying the same thing however one person highlighted one important fact, that the same cameras and technology used by space agencies for exploration, isn’t the same used by normal businesses.

One person joked: “Do you think the people in charge of Mars exploration are also the ones who set up surveillance cameras?”

Now while some of these images also had some people hoping we would speed up our plans to put a person on the planet and ultimately colonize the planet, doing this comes with issues.

Mars isn’t particularly hospitable for humans as the lack of atmosphere would mean a person would be exposed to more cosmic radiation. I suppose we could try Jupiter?
