These are some of the worst places you can be if World War III broke out today.
Talk of a third World War has seemingly never been louder amid the turbulent world we live in fronted by the ongoing war in Europe after Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.
And if the unthinkable was to ever happen, you're going to want to be somewhere which is somewhat safe in a time of such uncertainty.
So, it's important to be aware of the 'worst' countries to be in case of World War III, with ChatGPT having all the answers.

The AI chatbot states: "As a leading global military power and a member of NATO, the U.S. would be a primary target."
Cities such as Washington D.C., Los Angeles, and New York City are said to be most at risk, with emergency preparedness site Mira Safety backing the claim with predictions about what cities could be at risk if Russia were to target the US.

"Suppose Russia attempts an alpha strike against America, or a counterforce measure to target our nuclear weapons. In that case, their initial targets will be relatively remote," the site says, before adding: "As counterforce evolves into counter-value, Russian missiles would begin targeting larger cities, including New York, Chicago, Houston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco."

The second place on the list is perhaps an obvious one in the form of Russia, who many believe would be the starter of any third World War.
ChatGPT refers to it as 'a nuclear superpower and a likely belligerent in WW3', making the likes of Moscow and Saint Petersburg obvious targets.
China is another country where you don't want to be in the event of World War III, with ChatGPT warning: "A major global power with potential involvement in conflicts, especially concerning Taiwan."
Ukraine is fourth on the list, followed by Germany, the UK, France, and Poland joint fifth. The likes of the Middle East, Taiwan and North Korea rank in the top ten.

Donald Tusk, Poland's Prime Minister, seemingly referenced his country's risk, saying last month: "I have no reason to claim we're on the brink of war, but a line has been crossed, and it's incomparably more dangerous than before."
China, meanwhile, has warned the US and Trump that it's ready to fight 'any type' of war.

President Trump is certainly not afraid to bring up World War III either, including during that infamous bust-up with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The Republican president has also mentioned it during a speech to the Justice Department, to which he said: "I think we have it, I think we have it, but this could lead to World War III, very easily, could very easily lead to World War III.
"But I think we're in pretty good shape, a lot better than where we were before we got involved.
"That was heading into World War III territory, that would've been a war like no other because of nuclear weapons, and other types of weapons that you don't even wanna know about."
As for the countries said to be the safest in the event of World War III, the likes of Switzerland, Iceland and Argentina came up.
