A MasterChef contestant took a risk during the show and found herself being sent home after it really didn’t pay off with the judges.
MasterChef works on a pretty straight forward premise, contestants do their best to showcase their culinary talents and go through the rounds impressing the judges.
Your basic meals won’t really cut it so most do their best to show off their use of flavor, presentation skills and efficiency in the kitchen.
So, some contestants try and think outside of the box and get creative with traditional dishes or invent their own in hopes of scoring well.

But some risks certainly don’t pay off and that was the situation Saray Carillo, on the Spanish version of the show, found herself in.
Carillo had the challenge of creating a dish with the premise of taking ‘farm to table’ to the next level.

The chefs had the option to pluck and gut their birds before cooking them however they wanted so it was here they had the chance to get creative for their dishes.
Most cooks would have been perfectly fine preparing the meat normally but unfortunately for the contestant, she had a major aversion to handling and dealing with poultry. This ultimately made the process a bit of a nightmare for her.

This meant, the hopeful master chef decided to serve a whole partridge... and not with it nicely plucked either.
Instead, we're talking completely whole, with guts in, feathers on and a face. Not sure if this was the best time to try and risk this dish as it didn't seem to go down well with the judges.
Carillo did try to dress it up a little bit at least, presenting the bird with some spring onions sprinkled around the side as well as having some tomatoes on top for extra color.
Suffice to say, it didn't end up impressing the judges in the way she would have hoped.
After seeing the dish, one of the shocked judges said: “This is never seen in MasterChef.”
The clip of the presentation went viral on social media, garnering more than 1.8 million views online, but it wasn't quite so popular with the judges who unfortunately kicked Carrillo off the show.
However, the chef was clearly satisfied with the path she'd chosen and simply said 'bye bye' as she walked away. If nothing else, she and the judges have one heck of a story to tell, regardless of the outcome.
