A British man has spent an unbelievable 27 years walking across the globe and revealed his three favorite places.
While most people want to see some of the world, very few of us would decide to wave goodbye to all forms of modern transport and simply walk and swim as much of it as possible.
Well, that is what Karl Bushby decided to do at just the age of 29, and he has been doing it ever since for over two decades.
Now 56, the adventurous Bushby regularly takes to social media to talk about his travels and share videos about his current ventures around the world.

In one of his recent posts on TikTok about how he managed to swim the Caspian Sea, he was also asked what his favorite country was.
The body of water is over 143,000 square miles and borders five countries: Kazakhstan, Russia, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and Iran.

For those curious, he didn’t swim the vast sea in one go; he would take sleep breaks on a close vessel, and then return to his location of the previous night and continue swimming from there.

When it came to the favorite places he has ever been to, Bushby named Colombia, Chile, and Mexico, but did not give an explanation as to why.
He has, however, given reasons for some of the scariest places he has ever had the displeasure of being in his 27 years of traveling.
He said this came from his earlier years of traveling in the 2000s, when he had went across the Darién Gap, a stretch of rainforest where there are no roads between Panama and Colombia.
Speaking to CBS, he said it was ‘in the middle of a warzone’ drue to the cartel of activity in the area.

He said: "There was a whole layer above that that was cartels and drug plantations, and then really, really tough jungle."
He also named his crossing of the Bering Strait as another scary experience. In crossing the vast area, Bushby became the first Brit to ever do so.
This is located between the Pacific and Arctic oceans, and it is there that he ran into a polar bear. It's pretty easy to understand why this encounter would have been far from ideal.

Speaking on the experience, he said: “You're in a very serious world that will kill you in 20 minutes if you mess up.”
