A couple have won a life-changing sum of money after finding their winning lottery ticket on their fridge for days.
Two grandparents in Melbourne, Australia, have been left stunned after discovering their discarded lottery ticket made them millionaires to the tune of $13 million ($20 million AUD).
Fortunately, the winning ticket wasn't lost or missing - but simply sat on their fridge door for the several days after the numbers were drawn.
On Thursday (September 4), The Lott announced in its press release the winners of the over $50 million Powerball draw.

The married couple, who hail from Melbourne's lavish Brighton suburb, were none-the-wiser to holding one of the four division winning entries, awarding them with a hefty share of the lottery prize funds.
The Lott apparently struggled to contact the pair as they were not registered to its members club.

It meant the company had to wait for the winners to realize and come forward.

Fortunately, the duo did happen to realize what would've been a costly mistake to ignore, spotting the winning ticket casually on their fridge.
"That’s insane! I’m in shock!” the wife reportedly told The Lott.
“This is unbelievable. We had no idea, and this whole time the ticket was just sitting on our fridge.”
She confessed that she and her husband had 'both been really busy' and somehow forgot to check their Powerball ticket against the numbers amid the chaos of life.

The woman also revealed the numbers that saw them bag their fortune were chosen completely at random and by chance.
“Oh wow. It was just a QuickPick, but I see my lucky number is here, and some family birthdays and anniversaries. It was meant to be,” she added.
Now, the unnamed couple who have 'worked really hard' all their lives say they have big plans to splash the cash - on their children and grandchildren.

As a treat to themselves, they say they plan on buying themselves a 'little house.'
“We have bought tickets on and off for years. I can’t believe it,” the wife continued. “Heck! I don’t know if I should keep working or retire.
"I’ve had a radical change of plans for the day, that’s for sure. It will take a long time for this to sink in.”
The Lott revealed the pair bought their ticket from a store in East Brighton, with the winning numbers 9, 22, 23, 3, 13, 28 and 32, while their Powerball number was 5.

The news agency owner who sold the ticket, Sajjad Sadeghi Goorbandi, commented: "I can’t believe it! This is the best news.
"This is actually the first Division One winning ticket we’ve sold since I took over ownership two years ago."
"I'm so happy," he concluded before congratulating the pair.
