Mom of 16-year-old who was lured to his death and filmed dying reveals heartbreaking details

The mother of murdered teen Trey Dean Wright has shared more details on her son's relationship with his girlfriend Gianna Kistenmacher, who was allegedly involved in his shocking death.

On June 25, 16-year-old Trey died after sustaining multiple gunshot wounds, with it being suspected that his final moments were cruelly filmed on camera.

So far, nine teenagers linked to Trey's untimely death have surrendered to police, including his 17-year-old girlfriend Gianna Kistenmacher.

The pair are thought to have been dating for a few weeks before Trey was killed.

Devin Scott Raper is among those arrested and has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Florence County Sheriffs said in a statement at the time of Devin's arrest: "On June 24, 2025 at approximately 11:30 pm FCSO deputies responded to a call of a shooting incident on First Neck Road near Johnsonville, SC. When deputies arrived, the victim was discovered laying in the roadway with multiple gunshot wounds."

It continued: "Devin Scott Raper was taken into custody on June 25, 2025 in Conway, SC and charged with Murder and Possession of a Weapon During the Commission of a Violent Crime. According to Investigators, Raper is alleged to have shot the victim following a verbal altercation."

It's believed that Devin killed Trey as a result of a love spat regarding the 16-year-old's girlfriend, Gianna.

She allegedly helped 'lure Trey to his death' as part of the apparent love triangle, but Trey's mom, Ashley Lindsey, has refuted this.

"My son wasn't about dumb stuff like a love triangle," she told the Mail Online. "He told me just two days before he was killed that being with Gianna felt like a dream come true."

The grieving mom went on: "He really liked her, but he might have been clueless to whatever else was going on."

According to Ashley, 'queen bee' Gianna purposely picked a fight with Trey the day before his death.

Trey's close friend Ethan Kirby, 18, also spoke to the publication.

"I believe [Gianna] just wanted them to fight, not for it to end this way," he said, adding: "It was all a childish act that turned real."

Elsewhere Trey's grandmother, Catherine Lee, said that Gianna turned up to the hopsital on the night the teen was shot. The shooting took place on June 24, and Trey tragically died a day later.

"She came to the hospital," Lee said to ABC News 4. "And we thought, we didn't know she had anything to do with it. We were comforting her."

Eight of the nine suspects thought to have been involved in Trey's killing have been released on bond while alleged gunman Devin remains in custody.
