A man who found a diploma in a Star Wars book and managed to track down its owner and now, they're 'best friends'.

The man, Thomas Lipscomb, made the unlikely find at a Goodwill thrift store and has got quite the story to tell.

Taking to Instagram, Thomas relayed the bizarre sequence of events that led to the incredibly heartwarming happily-ever-after. Check it out:

It all started when Thomas rocked up to the thrift store and stumbled upon a 'really cool Star Wars book'.

Clearly the inquisitive type, he recalled: "I open it up, guess what I found? Not money..."

He went on: "I found a diploma! So I went on Instagram to find this guy, Jacob Calabrese. No one responded. I went on LinkedIn. I found a guy, Jacob Calabrese and he went to the school!"

Thomas then got in touch with Jacob, telling him: "Hey, I got your diploma!"

"Sounds like me," the man responded before asking Thomas to send over a picture of the sentimental document to confirm it was, in fact, his.

The diploma was sandwiched between the pages of a Star Wars book.

Jacob then asked if Thomas could ship him both the Star Wars book and the diploma, adding: "I'll Venmo you."

Thomas, clearly a jokester at heart, then 'requested $69 as a joke'.

"I thought it was hilarious," he said, "and then he actually sent it so I was like, 'oh, sh*t, I gotta actually put stuff in this package is worth up to kind of $65."

So, he ended up popping in a keychain, a couple gaming figures, a vintage Watto toy, a Yoda birthday card and a gift card to Chili's.

Thomas continued: "Then I put it all in a freaking box and I went down to the mailbox and then three days later he got it and now we're best friends.

"Isn't that insane?"

It sure is.

The pair are now 'best friends'.

He captioned the clip: "I found a diploma at Goodwill! #thrifting #comedy #bestfriends."

The video has since racked up over 182k likes and hundreds upon hundreds of comments from people eager to share their reactions to the incredible story.

One Instagram user wrote: "This is the best meet-cute bromance I've heard in a long time."

"A friendship they’ll write books about," penned a second, while a third said: "New friendship, priceless. That’s the universe working miracles baby!"

I think we all were.

A final Instagram user commented what we were all thinking: "I need a follow up of you and Jacob meeting for an epic BFF lunch at Chilis!"

Now that would be a good story.
