Elon Musk has responded to Taylor Swift's backing of Kamala Harris with a tweet slammed as 'creepy' and 'weird'.

Swift gave a ringing endorsement of Harris after the first televised debate between Harris and Donald Trump since she became the official Democratic nominee.

The debate went well for Harris in a marked changing of fortunes for the Democrats since Joe Biden's disastrous performance, which ultimately led to him withdrawing from the presidential race.

Harris frequently corrected and fact-checked claims made by Trump, who labelled her a 'Marxist' and made inaccurate claims about abortion.

Following Harris' performance at the debate, Swift posted a ringing endorsement of Harris to her 283 million Instagram followers.

In the post, Swift drew attention to AI-generated images of her appearing to endorse Trump, declared her support for Harris and Tim Walz, and urged people to register to vote.

Swift's endorsement drew the attention of Twitter/X CEO Elon Musk, who made Swift an offer many described as 'weird' and 'creepy'.

Musk tweeted: "Fine Taylor … you win … I will give you a child and guard your cats with my life."

For the avoidance of doubt, that's Musk offering to father a child for Swift so she can be a mom.

It's possible that 'guarding the cats' is also a reference to Trump's false comments claiming that immigrants are eating cats and dogs.

In response, many people on Twitter were all saying the same thing in response to Musk's comment.

One wrote: "this sh*t is creepy man".

Meanwhile others echoed the comments of vice presidential nominee Tim Walz calling MAGA supporters 'weird', which sparked a furious reaction from them.

One wrote: "You are creepy and weird," while another tweeted: "this is so weird man".

A third commented: "Am i the only one that finds this extremely weird?"

Swift laid out her reasons for supporting Harris, writing: "I will be casting my vote for Kamala Harris and Tim Walz in the 2024 Presidential Election. I’m voting for @kamalaharris because she fights for the rights and causes I believe need a warrior to champion them.

"I think she is a steady-handed, gifted leader and I believe we can accomplish so much more in this country if we are led by calm and not chaos.

"I was so heartened and impressed by her selection of running mate @timwalz, who has been standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman’s right to her own body for decades."

The musician added: "Your research is all yours to do, and the choice is yours to make", before urging people to register to vote.
