A Super Bowl commercial for Pepsi parodied one of the most famous kiss cam moments in history.

The Super Bowl has once again been and gone, with the New England Patriots losing 13-29 to the Seattle Seahawks at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, yesterday (February 8).

But of course, along with the sport and dazzling halftime show, it was also the largest TV event in the US with it's usual flood of accompanying adverts.

Every year, companies jostle for a spot in the ads, which was predicted to draw in some 127.7 million viewers this year, so that's a lot of eyeballs to advertise to, with the airtime commanding enormous prices to purchase for advertising.

And Pepsi took to the airwaves with a humorous take on their longstanding rivalry with Coca Cola, as well as one viral moment featuring a kiss cam.

I think we all know where this one is going...

In the advert, a polar bear starts off with a blind taste test between Pepsi and Coca-Cola, and is seemingly horrified to discover that they prefer Pepsi when they remove a blindfold, possibly in reference to previous blind taste tastes where people claim they prefer Pepsi.

This appears to shock the polar bear, who is left in disbelief that they chose Pepsi over Coke.

The ad then cuts away to the polar bear in a therapy session, with director and actor Taika Waititi playing the therapist as the large bear falls off the couch and is asked to 'tell me about your mother'.

Cut to the next scene and the bear peers longingly through a restaurant window at a group of people who are eating pizza and drinking cans of Pepsi.

As the bear's breath fogs up the window, another bear approaches them, places a paw on their shoulder and offers them a can of Pepsi.

It seems that the bears hit it off, as we next see them on the kiss cam at a concert, obviously grasping cans of Pepsi in their paws.

The pose of the bears sees one holding the other tenderly from behind, as they are then surprised to see themselves on the camera.

Not only that, but the way they're standing appears to parody a now famous kiss cam moment featuring the now former Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and the company's Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, who were watching a Coldplay concert at the Gillette Stadium in Foxborough in Massachusetts.

After the kiss cam focussed on them, they immediately separated, with Cabot dropping to the ground.

Chris Martin observed: "Oh, what? Either they're having an affair or they're just really shy."

Awkward.

However, in the advert, the bears don't have quite the same reaction.

Instead of hiding, they appear surprised, before smiling and waving to the rest of the audience.
