Donald Trump has been one of many political figures who have spoken out and condemned the shooting. He also confirmed the death of Kirk.

However, popular animated show South Park has come under fire for its unflattering portrayal of Kirk only a few weeks ago.
The show proved it's still be able to ruffle some feathers when it ridiculed multiple MAGA figures, including Trump and Kirk.

On social media, following the shooting, some have argued the show should be cancelled. One person on Twitter wrote: “Hate to say it because I was a South Park fan from day 1, but that show should now be cancelled.”
Another said: “Well, on the plus side, it looks like 'South Park' is about to be cancelled..."
With a third writing: “South Park is also to blame for what happened to Charlie Kirk. Not one 'Biden' episode for 4 years. Then as soon as as Trump is in they literally put him in bed with the devil & add Charlie Kirk to the episode."
While another simply wrote: “So this is how South Park is going to get cancelled."

Besides the point that South Park has been making fun of basically everyone for over 20 years, and has made much harsher, cruder and offensive jokes directed at public figures, Kirk didn’t feel the same way as some of these fans.
Prior to the episode where he was depicted, Season 27 episode 2: Got a Nut, Kirk said he found the whole thing quite funny and said it was important to be able to take jokes.

He said: “They're going to obviously make fun of me ... but I think it's kind of funny and it kind of goes to show the cultural impact and the resonance that our movement has been able to achieve."

Even after the show aired, Kirk took to social media and praised the episode, saying it was both funny, and a testament to his cultural influence.
He also shared jokes that were mocking him from the episode and closed by saying: “There is going to be a lot said about this but we have got to have a good spirit about being made fun of.
“This is all a success, all a win, we as conservatives, we have thick skin, not thin skin and you can make fun of us, it doesn’t matter.”
