Christmas time in the office can be one of the more enjoyable times of the year, but one tradition has gone seriously wrong, according to one TikToker.

As Christmas draws closer, it can be easy to get in the festive cheer in the workplace, but sometimes things don’t exactly pan out as planned.

According to one woman on TikTok, who goes by @_abihtx on the platform, she decided to partake in secret Santa and likely wishes she didn’t at this point.

For those who don’t know, secret Santa essentially sees a group of people draw names and get that person a present, with everyone sworn to secrecy until it is gift giving day.

It is safe to say, the woman wasn’t pleased with what she received, in fact she questioned whether it was intentionally meant to harm her.

She opened the video with quite the statement: “I will never participate in another secret Santa.”

Ouch. She went on: “Tell me why I got an anonymous email two weeks ago and it was like ‘Do you have any food allergies?’.

“I was like that is strange but yeah, the nut family, but especially pecan and walnuts, those will completely take me out.

“We exchanged gifts today and I came into the office, gift was sitting on the desk. It was kind of big and had me wondering what it was.

“Tell me why it was a f***ing pecan pie, a f***ing pie. I know I'm not tripping.

“It literally had a little note that said ‘homemade, just for you’.”

Abigail went on to question whether her secret Santa was trying to kill her with this pie.

People on social media couldn’t believe the situation with many insisting she should take this issue straight to HR.

One person wrote: “Don’t print the email, forward it to HR and your personal email. Let them investigate the IP address but def keep a copy for your records so you can investigate outside of the company.”

Another added: “This is the type of gesture to have explained with HR present.”

However, another did offer a possible less vindictive explanation and said: “Sounds like maybe the email was not the gift giver, but rather somebody who heard what they were giving you and never got to tell the other person that it was a bad idea."

Thankfully, secret Santa doesn’t always go so awry, shoutout to my close friend Breezy for his gift to me this year, thankfully my own nut allergy doesn’t have to deal with a menacing pecan pie.
