The FBI has issued an update on Nancy Guthrie following a statement from Trump that he would be using all federal law enforcement at his disposal to find her.
The mother of TODAY co-anchor Savannah Guthrie is still considered missing after she failed to show up to church almost a week ago on February 1.
The authorities said the 84 year-old Nancy Guthrie disappeared under âconcerning circumstancesâ and have launched an investigation.
At this point, the Pima County Sheriffâs Office has said they are treating her home in Catalina Foothills, Tucson, Arizona, as an âactive crime sceneâ - adding that it does not appear that she âwillinglyâ left the premises.

On February 5, Trump gave an update on Truth Social about the situation.
He said he had spoken to Savannah and âlet her know that I am directing ALL Federal Law Enforcement to be at the familyâs, and Local Law Enforcementâs, complete disposal, IMMEDIATELY'.

He added: âWe are deploying all resources to get her mother home safely. The prayers of our Nation are with her and her family.
âGOD BLESS AND PROTECT NANCY! PRESIDENT DONALD J. TRUMP.â
On February 6, the FBI acknowledged that there is a new message that has been sent out that they are investigating.
This follows on from reports of alleged ransom notes sent to TMZ and CBS affiliate KOLD-TV demanding Bitcoin for Nancyâs safe return.
The statement read: âThe FBI and Pima County Sheriffâs Department are aware of a new message regarding Nancy Guthrie.
âInvestigators are actively inspecting the information provided in the message for its authenticity.
âWhile this is one new piece of information, the FBI and the Pima County Sheriffâs Department are still asking anyone with tips to contact the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI. The FBI continues to offer a reward of up to $50,000 for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.â

KOLD News/News 13 confirmed that it received the new message earlier in the day on February 6.
However, the outlet added that they would not be releasing details out of respect to the family.
News 13 added: âThe new note contains information the senders seem to think will prove to investigators theyâre the same people who sent the first note.â
An FBI spokesperson spoke to People and said on the same day they, and evidence recovery teams, had showed up at Nancyâs home looking for clues.
They told the outlet: âWe are back at the house again as part of customary investigation follow up.
âWe were planning on getting back to the house today even before that message came in.â
