The family of a 61-year-old man who lost his life after being ‘snatched’ into an MRI machine have given more shocking details about the incident.

Keith McAllister was killed after he was pulled into an MRI machine when he was only at the hospital to support his wife, Adrienne Jones-McAllister.

The occurred at Nassau Open MRI in Westbury, New York on July 16 and a distraught Adrienne has spoken to local media about the incident.

Speaking to News 12 Long Island, she said: “He went limp in my arms and this is still pulsating in my brain."

The pair were at the clinic as Adrienne was undergoing an MRI on her knee.

Police commenting on the incident said: “The male victim was wearing a large metallic chain around his neck causing him to be drawn into the machine which resulted in a medical episode.”

Two days later, Keith had reportedly succumbed to his injuries and died. Some reports have insisted that Keith did not have authorization to enter the room, however his family have disputed this and have since spoken out.

A GoFundMe page that has been set up by Samantha Bodden, Adrienne’s daughter, has outlined what happened.

She claimed that Kevin was in fact authorized to be in the room and also claimed that he was not told to remove his chain before being sucked in.

On the page she wrote: “On July 16th, 2025, my mother’s husband, Keith McAllister, was tragically killed from being sucked into an MRI machine. While my mother was laying on the table, the technician left the room to get her husband to help her off the table.

“He forgot to inform him to take the chain he was wearing from around his neck off when the magnet sucked him in. My mother and the tech tried for several minutes to release him before the police were called.

“He was attached to the machine for almost an hour before they could release the chain from the machine. Unfortunately, on July 17th, he lost his battle after having several heart attacks following the tragic accident.

“Several news stations are saying he wasn’t authorized to be in the room when in fact he was because the technician went and brought him into the room.”

Bodden also noted that the funds will be for her mother as she prepares expenses to bury Kevin.

She closed by saying: “Keith was a husband, a father, a stepfather, a grandfather, a brother, and an uncle. He was a friend to many. He was on a fixed income from social security and didn’t have much.

"So at this time, my mother is asking for help with expenses to help bury him. Anything will help and is very much appreciated. We thank you for understanding during this time of loss.”
