An influencer has been blasted for planning a family trip to Disney World Orlando - where a category five hurricane is currently headed.

TikToker Cecily Bauchmann has been slammed for planning to take a trip to Orlando, Florida despite mass evacuations taking place in the area which is set to be ravished by Hurricane Milton.

It is barreling toward the Florida Peninsula, the storm however has since dipped to category four and is even expected to drop down to category three by the time it hits the west-central area of Florida's Gulf Coast.

It is expected to make landfall on Wednesday evening (October 9), local time, before traveling over Orlando.

Millions of residents have already evacuated the area as the storm is expected to be the worst to hit the Tampa Bay area, with areas of onshore winds potentially expecting to see water levels rise by 12-feet above ground level, according to FOX Weather.

While the National Weather Service office of Tampa Bay warned: "Act now to complete preparations before the wind becomes hazardous."

But despite millions of residents set to be displaced from their homes, Bauchmann was reportedly prepared to travel with her family to probably the one place on Earth you don't want to be.

Taking to TikTok to share footage of her and her family preparing to depart for the airport, she told the camera: "We're leaving for Florida in one hour and I need to pack."

Bauchmann then proceeded to pack all hers and her children's clothes neatly away into the suitcases.

"Time to pack up this suitcase, time to go," she says, before adding: "Hey guys, we will see you at the airport. Love you, bye!"

The minute-long footage has since been deleted but not before another user reposted it onto her own page.

Writing a caption over the video, the user typed: "This lady's heading to Disney knowing a cat 5 hurricane is otw. The lights are on but no one's home."

It seems that the influencer isn't alone in wanting to still fly to Florida. One user commented: "My coworker left for Florida, and I told her about the hurricane btw. And she said, 'Nothing is stopping me from the beach l've waited for this all year.'"

While a third wrote: "People travelling like Cecily to places where residents of the affected need hotels & Airbnbs in order to evacuate are so selfish."

Meanwhile, a third chimed in: "I thought that was a POV. There’s no way this is real."

If Bauchmann and her family did make it to Florida, other than the once-category five hurricane hurtling towards the state, they would have been met with further disappointment as Disney announced that Disney World would be closed on October 9 and 10.

UNILAD has contacted Bauchmann for comment.
