Kristin Cabot's husband has issued a plea with the public after breaking his silence over the controversial Coldplay jumbotron moment.

To recap, back in July, Cabot was caught on the big screen with Astronomer CEO Andy Byron.

Cabot also worked at the company, as their Chief People Officer. In the footage, Byron appeared to have his arms around Cabot, who was leaning back into the CEO and holding his hands.

At the time, frontman Chris Martin seemed pretty shocked, telling crowds: “Oh look at these two. Either they are having an affair or they’re just really shy.”

Due to the unusual reaction, a clip of what happened went viral on TikTok and has since been viewed hundreds of millions of times.

Since the viral moment, both Byron and Cabot have resigned from their roles at Astronomer, and it was recently revealed that Kristin and her husband Andrew Cabot have filed for divorce.

However, Andrew, who is the CEO of Privateer Rum, has now shared new information which throws the very public debacle into a different light.

Breaking his silence on what happened, Andrew shared a plea with the public following the huge interest in the story over the last few months.

A spokeswoman told PEOPLE: "Now that the divorce filing is public, Andrew hopes this provides respectful closure to speculation and allows his family the privacy they’ve always valued."

However, she added that Andrew and Kristin 'were privately and amicably separated several weeks before the Coldplay concert'.

It was widely speculated that Kristin had been unfaithful at the concert, which wasn't the case.

The spokeswoman added: "Their decision to divorce was already underway prior to that evening.

"No further public comment will be made."

Since the incident took place in July, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has also spoken about what happened.

In a video, which was shared on Reddit, he said: "This is called a jumbotron, and we've done this for a long long time, and we pick people out to say hello, and sometimes they - yeah, they turn out to be internationally massive scandal, sure."

Martin continued: "But most of the time we're just trying to say hello to f**king people, that's all. Now all of this bullsh*t."

Martin went on to send his love to 'those people', before warning fans that the jumbotron was coming.

"We're going to do our f**king kiss cam... so if you're not prepared to be on international news, please duck," he joked.

Also in Hull, Martin told the crowd: "Life throws you lemons and you’ve got to make lemonade. We are going to keep doing it because we are going to meet some of you.”

Following the viral moment, Pete DeJoy - who is acting as CEO at Astronomer since Byron resigned - addressed what had happened in a statement online.

"The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies—let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world—ever encounter," he wrote.

"The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name."

Neither Cabot nor Bryon has publicly commented on the incident.
