Police have found human remains in their search for missing Kada Scott.

Scott, 23, from Philadelphia, has been missing since October 4.

She was reported missing by her mom when she failed to come home after an overnight shift two weeks ago at an assisted living facility where she worked. Scott was scheduled to work 10.00pm to 6.00am.

However it was later revealed that the young woman left her shift early. It seems as if she left the facility on foot as her mother's car, which she'd driven to work, was still in the employee parking lot.

A search for Scott has been underway ever since and now police have shared a bleak update on its investigation into her disappearance.

On Saturday (October 18), a woman's body was found buried in a shallow grave near Ada H. Lewis Middle School, an establishment that closed its doors in 2008.

According to 6 ABC Action News, police received a 'very specific' anonymous tip the weekend.

Philadelphia police said, per Daily Star: "While conducting a search of the property, investigators discovered a shallow grave and recovered human remains believed to be those of Kada Scott.

"This is a heartbreaking development, and our thoughts are with Kada’s family and loved ones during this extremely difficult time.

"The Philadelphia Police Department remains committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring that justice is served."

Law enforcement had been at the scene in the days running up to the sad discovery. Police had found a card with Scott’s name and other items believed to be hers, including an iPhone case, at the site.

Keon King, 21, was arrested in connection to Scott's disappearance on October 15.

He went on to be charged with kidnapping and recklessly endangering another person and is being held on a $2.5 million bail.

King is alleged to have been seen in a TikTok video peering into a window before trying to gain entry into a property earlier this year in another incident unrelated to Scott's disappearance.

King and Scott are believed to have been in communication with one another before her disappearance but how they know one another remains unclear.

Police think King was the last person to see the 23-year-old before she went missing.

In an update issued today (October 20), Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said they are bringing additional charges against King and that a second case against him has already been approved.
