US President Joe Biden is facing criticism online after butchering LL Cool J's name and referring to him as a 'boy'.

Last night (Saturday, 23 September), President Joe Biden gave a speech to the Congressional Black Caucus at its annual awards dinner in Washington, DC.

LL Cool J - real name James Todd Smith - and MC Lyte were presented with the Phoenix Award for the their contributions to music.

And it would appear when Biden's not pretending to gobble up little girls, he's mispronouncing names and continuing to call Black men 'boys'.

Catch the moment here:

Biden presented the award to the two 'great artists of our time,' however he stumbled on LL Cool J's name.

Biden said: "And two of the great artists of our time representing the ground-breaking legacy of hip hop in America L O J Cool J uhhh.

"By the way, that boy... that man's got biceps bigger than my thighs."

People are flooding to social media to call out Biden's messing up of LL Cool J's name and him referring to the rapper as a 'boy'.

One X - formerly known as Twitter - user said: "Joe Biden calls LL Cool J 'boy' . I think his mind is stuck in the 60s."

"Calling a black man 'boy' is as bad as calling him the 'N' word," another said.

And a third resolved: "Joe Biden’s racism rears it’s ugly head again. Calling a full grown black man a boy is seen as racist. Will the Media hold Joe Biden accountable for being racist?"

Biden has come under fire on social media for his slip up.

Biden has previously been called out for calling Black men 'boys' - with Senator Cory Booker warning him you 'don't joke about calling Black men boys' in 2019, after Biden used the phrase when referring to segregationist senators.

On ABC show 'This Week' at the time, Senator Booker reflected: "We make mistakes. We sometimes tread upon issues that maybe we aren’t knowledgeable of.

"I don’t think the vice president should need this lesson, but this was a time for him to be healing and to be helpful – especially the time that he is looking to bring this party together and lead us in what is the most important election of our lifetime."

And unfortunately it's clear Biden has made the same 'mistake' again.
