JD Vance is being roasted online for his recent remarks about the Titanic and 'turning it around' — despite the fact the famous ship historically sank to the bottom of the ocean.

Vance visited his home state of Ohio yesterday and spoke to workers at an industrial shipping facility in Toledo.

While he was there the vice president addressed the affordability crisis in the US, something he insists was caused by the Biden administration.

When Donald Trump returned to office he pledged to 'Make America Affordable Again' — but 12 months later many Americans are still struggling to make ends meet as their paychecks aren't reflecting the increased cost of living.

Stood in front of dozens of workers with 'bigger paychecks' signs, Vance spoke about the issue at hand.

"We know there is still so much work to do, and this is something I want you to hear: the Democrats talk a lot about the affordability crisis in the United States of America. And yes, there is an affordability crisis—one created by Joe Biden’s policies," he told the crowd.

Vance continued: "You don’t turn the Titanic around overnight. It takes time to fix what was broken."

His unusual analogy has left people scratching their heads as, of course, the Titanic was not turned around and it sank after hitting an iceberg. The incident claimed the lives of around 1,500 people.

People have wasted no time to roast Vance for his bizarre analogy.

One person wrote on X: "So close! the titanic actually sank to the bottom of the f**king ocean."

"Can someone tell him the Titanic didn’t turn around… it sank," said somebody else.

A third wrote: "Erm ... is anyone else thinking what I'm thinking? Really not sure the Titanic was the best analogy. I mean, it's true, but I don't think that was his point."

"The Titanic famously did not turn around at all," pointed out another.

The vice president also visited Minneapolis yesterday where he defended ICE's actions after agents recently detaining a five-year-old boy, something which has caused nationwide outrage.

The boy, named publicly as Liam Ramos, was taken in by ICE alongside his father.

Amid the 'chaos' taking place in cities like Minneapolis, Vance speculated the local authorities there are 'being told by somebody not to cooperate at all' with the federal agents.

He then called on the likes of Tim Waltz and Jacob Frey to 'empower their local officials to help our federal officials out in a way that this can be a little bit less chaotic and it can be a little more targeted'.
