JD Vance and Usha Vance have announced they're expecting a baby boy but their due date has sent some social media users' heads spinning.

On January 20, Second Lady Usha Vance shared a statement from Vice President JD Vance to Twitter which read: "We've very excited to share the news that Usha is pregnant with our fourth child, a boy. Usha and the baby are doing well, and we are all looking forward to welcoming him in late July.

"During this exciting and hectic time, we are particularly grateful for the military doctors who take excellent care of our family and for the staff members who do so much to ensure that we can serve the country while enjoying a wonderful life with our children."

The caption added: "We're very happy to share some exciting news. Our family is growing."

And it hasn't taken long for the Vance jokers to leap to their keyboards, some connecting the announcement to JD Vance's 2025 Halloween costume.

But what could a baby have to do with a Halloween costume, I hear you ask?

Well, after finding himself the subject of several memes last year, Vance decided to treat everyone, taking inspiration from one particular video for his Halloween fit.

The 'You didn't even say thank you' meme of Vance originated after President Donald Trump and the vice president met with Volodymyr Zelenskyy in February.

In the meeting, Vance grilled the Ukrainian president, asking: "Have you said thank you once?"

Shortly after, several AI-generated memes spewed out on social media showing Vance with wild, curly hair. And so, seemingly referencing the meme, Vance decided to don a curly-haired wig for Halloween, sharing a video to TikTok of him opening the front door in the wig, telling the camera: "Happy Halloween, kids... Remember, say thank you!"

Oh and then he started spinning around with the Twilight Zone theme tune playing in the background.

And given the recent baby announcement, some internet sleuths have counted back and worked out the baby could've been conceived around the end of October.

"The child was conceived with the wig on," as one wildly - and hopefully jokingly - said.

Cue Twitter pandemonium.

Another user similarly theorized: "Don't come for me, but late July babies are often conceived on Halloween. And don't forget, this was @VP@JDVance's costume. Congratulations!"

A third joked: "There is a nonzero chance that the inception of this pregnancy occurred while Vance was in his Halloween costume based on the dates provided."

Meanwhile, a fourth wrote: "I thought the same thing."

And another simply resolved: "Incredible."

Hey, maybe the Vances were stuck 'riding the escalator' and decided to jazz things up with a bit of 'pinballing'?
