Man lured girlfriend, 18, who thought she was celebrating her pregnancy then murdered her for not getting an abortion

The teenager was found fatally shot in her car in a remote park

A man has been convicted of luring his pregnant girlfriend to a remote area before shooting her dead after discovering she was pregnant.

Donovan Faison, from Florida, reportedly coaxed his 18-year-old girlfriend to meet him in a remote park after learning about her pregnancy on November 11, 2022.

However, when she arrived, the 23-year-old reportedly tried to convince Kaylin Fiengo to seek an abortion.

During his first-degree murder trial, the court heard how he then fatally shot Kaylin in the head while she sat inside her car at Coastline Park in Sanford and left her for dead.

During a routine patrol of the park, a cop stumbled across the grim scene. He found the car running in the parking lot, and someone appearing to be sat in the driver's seat, an arrest affidavit revealed.

The officer reported spotting blood on the ground by the driver's door while the window was down.

It was then he found Kaylin unresponsive in the car. Despite the best efforts of emergency services, she was declared dead at the scene.

Tragically, an ultrasound scan of the child was found just feet away from her body.

Faison was arrested 10 months after the teen's brutal death and was charged with her murder and the murder of her unborn child.

Cops arrested the killer after an investigation with the Seminole County Sheriff's Office uncovered damning text messages between the pair.

When Kaylin announced the news of her pregnancy with a photograph of two positive tests, he reportedly accused her of lying before typing back: "Abortion!!!"

During his trial, prosecutors said the man appeared 'angry' and possibly 'pressured' by the situation since he was 'living with another woman who suspected him of cheating,' as per PEOPLE.

The trial revealed Faison had been in an intimate relationship with Kaylin, with the teenager allegedly informing his partner of the affair and of her pregnancy on the day of her ultrasound, reports the Miami Herald.

Another damning text message was also read out to jurors, in which Faison allegedly messaged a friend about the situation, moments before meeting the young woman in the park.

He reportedly revealed Kaylin was refusing to get an abortion, writing in his message: "On my brothers grave, I’m gonna crop her out."

Cops eventually linked Faison to the scene of the crime when a friend said Kaylin had told her she was going to meet her 'second baby daddy' at the park.

The friend happened to come to the park as officers were investigating the scene, stating she hadn't heard from Kaylin but traced her using 'find my iPhone'.

A jury returned the guilty verdict on October 27 . The sentencing is yet to be determined, but he could be handed the death penalty.

“We’ve been waiting a long time for this,” Tatiana Fiengo, the victim's aunt, told News 6 Click Orlando.

“It doesn’t bring her back, but at least he’s not out hurting other people.”
