Donald Trump has reacted furiously after his tariffs were deemed ‘unconstitutional’ and illegal by a US court.

The POTUS' tenure in the White House so far has been dominated by tariffs after Trump outlined plans for 'reciprocal tariffs' on US trading partners on so-called 'Liberation Day' in April.

While the Trump administration has granted various extensions to allow partners to negotiate new deals, many tariffs came into effect earlier this month.

However, the US Court of Appeals has said that the Republican president was not legally permitted to declare national emergencies and impose import taxes on countries across the globe.

While the court mostly upheld a decision by a specialised federal trade court that would have immediately cancelled the tariffs, the new ruling does allow the Trump administration time to appeal the Supreme Court.

Thus, the tariffs are still in effect today.

And Trump took to his Truth Social account on Thursday to confirm such in what was a furious rant on social media.

"ALL TARIFFS ARE STILL IN EFFECT!" the president began. "Today a Highly Partisan Appeals Court incorrectly said that our Tariffs should be removed, but they know the United States of America will win in the end. If these Tariffs ever went away, it would be a total disaster for the Country.

"It would make us financially weak, and we have to be strong.

"The U.S.A. will no longer tolerate enormous Trade Deficits and unfair Tariffs and Non Tariff Trade Barriers imposed by other Countries, friend or foe, that undermine our Manufacturers, Farmers, and everyone else."

Trump went on to say that if the decision is allowed to stand it would 'literally destroy' the US, as the president continued to reiterate his desire to pursue with tariffs.

The POTUS added: "At the start of this Labor Day weekend, we should all remember that TARIFFS are the best tool to help our Workers, and support Companies that produce great MADE IN AMERICA products. For many years, Tariffs were allowed to be used against us by our uncaring and unwise Politicians.

"Now, with the help of the United States Supreme Court, we will use them to the benefit of our Nation, and Make America Rich, Strong, and Powerful Again!"

Trump's tariffs have shook the global markets, as fears arise that the president's policies may mean higher prices of everyday goods, as well as the potential of slower economic growth.

The ruling could mean the Trump administration may have to refund some of the import taxes they have already collected, Sky News notes.
