US President Donald Trump has detailed what exactly happened between himself and Supreme Court Chief Justice John Roberts before his speech to Congress on Tuesday (March 4).

Trump presented his presidential speech to Congress earlier this week, where he revealed Vladimir Putin has provided 'strong signals' to the US for peace and detailed a letter received from President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy amid the ongoing war in Europe.

While there were a lot of talking points from the speech itself, an exchange between Trump and the Supreme Court Chief just moments before the president delivered his message has a lot of people talking.

Some insane theories have emerged after a hidden camera was carefully placed to hear what Trump said to Roberts as he shook his hand in a seemingly polite interaction.

Well, a lot of speculation followed that as people questioned what exactly Trump was thanking Justice Roberts for, with some liberal pundits even suggesting conspiracy theories could be behind it.

But to set the record straight, Trump has taken to Truth Social to reveal exactly what happened between the pair.

The president wrote: "The Fake 'Play the Ref' News, in order to create a divide between me and our great U.S. Supreme Court, heard me say last night, loudly and openly as I was walking past the Justices on the way to the podium, 'thank you', to Chief Justice John Roberts.

"Like most people, I don’t watch Fake News CNN or MSDNC, but I understand they are going 'crazy' asking what is it that I was thanking Justice Roberts for?

"They never called my office to ask, of course, but if they had I would have told these sleazebag 'journalists' that I thanked him for SWEARING ME IN ON INAUGURATION DAY, AND DOING A REALLY GOOD JOB IN SO DOING! The Fake News never quits!"

In his Congress address, the ongoing war in Ukraine was top of the agenda, amid Trump's comments claiming Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is 'gambling with World War 3'.

"The letter reads Ukraine is ready to come to the negotiating table as soon as possible to bring lasting peace closer," Trump said.

"Nobody wants peace more than the Ukrainians. Regarding the agreement on minerals and security, Ukraine is ready to sign it at any time that is convenient for you."

Trump also went on to say he has received 'strong signals' from Putin that Russia is also ready for a peace deal three years on from their invasion.
