Donald Trump made it clear what he thought of Jimmy Kimmel, bringing up the now suspended comedian during a speech at Kirk’s funeral.

Charlie Kirk’s funeral was held on 21 September and saw thousands in attendance.

One of those attending was US president Donald Trump, who eventually took to the stage to speak some words about Kirk.

During his speech, Trump took shots at late night talk show comedian Jimmy Kimmel and argued the host had proven to be insensitive over Kirk’s death.

This comes after Kimmel’s show was suspended indefinitely following jokes he made regarding Trump’s reaction to being asked about how he was coping.

At the funeral, Trump argued that ‘major losers’ were commenting on Charlie Kirk’s murder and said he couldn’t believe some of the comments he was seeing tied to Kirk.

He eventually moved on to specifically call out Kimmel and his supporters.

He said: “Commentators, influencers and others in our society have greeted his assassination with sick approval, excuses or even jubilation.

“You know the names, they are major losers by the way, that will be proven out in a short period of time.

“Some of the very people who call you a hater for using the wrong pronoun were filled with glee at the killing of a father with two beautiful young children.

“The same commentators who this week who are screaming fascism over a cancelled late night TV show where the anchor had no talent and no ratings were last week implying that Charlie Kirk deserved what happened to him.”

Trump has faced some backlash on social media for his speech at the funeral, however.

The president eventually began speaking on the benefit of the tariffs he introduced and the success of his presidency, only loosely tying it to Kirk’s death.

One user commented: “This is what trump talks about at the funeral of his friend? Kimmel was accurate.”

With another saying: “Any excuse for political BS blowing his own trumpet (erroneously)! Completely inappropriate for the occasion. He’s an absolute disgrace. Cringe.”

A third added: “I thought this was a memorial service? Silly me, total political rally & propaganda spew.”

Another unhappy person commented: “Effing ar**hole, talking about other things when he’s at a funeral. Who invite that DS anyway?”

With another annoyed person adding: “You mean he spoke about tariffs at a man’s funeral?

It’s all about Trump!Wow!That so like him egotistical! He can’t let the spotlight go! Unbelievable.”
