Donald Trump is said to be weighing up a major decision regarding sex trafficker Ghislaine Maxwell, who conspired with Jeffrey Epstein.
It was back in 2021 when Maxwell was sentenced to 20 years behind bars after a jury found her guilty of luring teenage girls for convicted sex offender Epstein.
A court found her guilty of sex trafficking minors, conspiracy to entice a minor to travel to engage in illegal sex acts, and conspiracy to transport a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

Lawyers for Maxwell have long argued against her conviction, claiming she should have been covered by a non-prosecution agreement previously made between Epstein and the US government, ABC News reports.
Maxwell has made numerous attempts to secure a retrial in recent years, all of which have been denied by federal courts.
President Trump was asked if he'd consider a pardon for Maxwell during a presser at the Oval Office on Monday (7 October), when he seemingly forgotten who Maxwell - who worked with his former friend Epstein - is.

"You know, I haven't heard the name in so long. I can say this, that I'd have to take a look at it. I would have to take a look," the Republican president said.
Bizarrely, Trump went on to say he did not know 'anything' about the case, which is surprising considering the situation has been in the headlines for months.
"I'll look at it ... a lot of people have asked me for pardons," Trump went on to say.
"I wouldn’t consider it or not consider — I don’t know anything about it. I will speak to the DOJ," he added.
Trump's latest comments come after the Supreme Court denied Maxwell's latest appeal, which was lodged based on a supposed prior non-prosecution agreement.

The Department of Justice had called on the US' highest court to throw out the appeal.
David Oscar Markus, Maxwell's attorney, told the Independent that the her legal team was 'deeply disappointed' by the latest verdict.
"But this fight isn’t over. Serious legal and factual issues remain, and we will continue to pursue every avenue available to ensure that justice is done," he stated.
