One short video has got people rethinking their whole kitchen setup after seeing what happens inside a dishwasher when it cleans the dishes.

One video has got people questioning whether they will ever use their dishwasher again as a man had to get an answer to a burning question he had.

What exactly is going on inside the dishwasher when its making all that noise in the kitchen?

Are there tiny elves scrubbing away? Are the plates being destroyed and replaced with exact replicas? Well, we are at least on our way to finding out.

The YouTube page povsadventures showed what happens inside his by pointing a light and a camera inside and loading the dishwasher up.

Surprisingly, the video proved to be very divisive and sparked a massive debate in the comment section.

The narrator of clip explained the thinking behind the experiment: “I put a camera in a dishwasher because I, like many others, wonder what really went on in there.

“I added a light, so it would be super clear and then I also filled it up more, I added a tide pod, I strapped the camera in, closed the dishwasher and then it was time to see what happened."

Sounds all good so far, and inside the dishwasher, we can see a jets of water shoot out and is spread by a spinning dial in the center.

The dishes get increasingly clean as time passes but that isn’t what got people talking, it was the color of the liquid.

It appeared more brown and yellow than people were expecting and many were left questioning what it even was.

No clear answer was provided by the uploader but some people suspected it could have been due to the tide pod used, possible discoloration from iron or manganese in the water supply, a faulty dishwasher, while others argued that dishwashers were simply unclean.

One user joked: “Bro got the dishwasher hooked up to his septic tank.”

Another said: “Thank you for helping me see reasons why hand washing is best.”

A third wrote: “I am glad I was not the only one who was shocked by the brown water 😂thank you for sharing anyway.”

With another commenting: “After seeing it from the inside, I'm concerned about whether the dishes are actually getting cleaned.”

With a fifth person writing: “Before the machine starts you can see standing brown water in the bottom of the washer basin, this isn't normal. I use to work as a whirlpool appliance installer, he either set this up for reactions or the machine is broken and not draining.”
