Man puts camera in dishwasher to see what really happens inside and the truth has left people disturbed

One short video has left people questioning everything they thought they knew about their dishwasher after revealing what really happens behind the door during a wash cycle.

For years, most of us have simply loaded up the dishwasher, pressed a button and walked away - without ever wondering what is actually happening inside.

But one man decided he needed answers.

What goes on in there while all those strange noises are coming from the kitchen? Are plates being blasted with jets of water? Is there some sort of miniature army scrubbing away at every fork and glass?

Well, we finally have a chance to see for ourselves.

The YouTube page povsadventures set up a camera and light inside a dishwasher before starting a wash cycle, giving viewers a rare look at what happens once the door is closed.

And while the footage might seem fairly straightforward, it has proved surprisingly divisive, with viewers taking to the comments to debate exactly what they were seeing.

Some people were fascinated by the behind-the-scenes look at an everyday appliance, while others admitted that seeing inside the dishwasher had raised more questions than it answered.

The narrator of clip explained the thinking behind the experiment: “I put a camera in a dishwasher because I, like many others, wonder what really went on in there.

“I added a light, so it would be super clear and then I also filled it up more, I added a tide pod, I strapped the camera in, closed the dishwasher and then it was time to see what happened."

Sounds all good so far, and inside the dishwasher, we can see a jets of water shoot out and is spread by a spinning dial in the center.

The dishes get increasingly clean as time passes but that isn’t what got people talking, it was the color of the liquid.

It appeared more brown and yellow than people were expecting and many were left questioning what it even was.

No clear answer was provided by the uploader but some people suspected it could have been due to the tide pod used, possible discoloration from iron or manganese in the water supply, a faulty dishwasher, while others argued that dishwashers were simply unclean.

One viewer joked: “Bro got the dishwasher hooked up to his septic tank.”

Another admitted the footage had only strengthened their preference for washing dishes by hand, writing: “Thank you for helping me see reasons why hand washing is best.”

The brown water was a particular talking point, with one person commenting: “I am glad I was not the only one who was shocked by the brown water - thank you for sharing anyway.”

Others were left questioning whether the dishes were actually getting clean, with one viewer writing: “After seeing it from the inside, I'm concerned about whether the dishes are actually getting cleaned.”

However, one commenter claimed the brown water wasn't normal at all, saying: “Before the machine starts you can see standing brown water in the bottom of the washer basin, this isn't normal.

"I used to work as a Whirlpool appliance installer, he either set this up for reactions or the machine is broken and not draining.”
