One Chipotle customer on Reddit has people wishing they could go back in time and experience the restaurant how it was back in 2015.

People all over America love to treat themselves to a treat takeout, and who can blame them? Life is tough sometimes and it can be good to just get an easy tasty meal rather than slaving away in the kitchen for hours after a hard day's work.

But one thing that is making the fast-food experience a little less than ideal is... well, the cost.

Meals that used to be so appealing because they tasted great and were super cheap aren’t actually all that cheap anymore.

Reddit users have found that out after looking at this one heartbreaking image, a receipt from Chipotle from back in July 2015.

Just in case you can remember that time year pretty well... that was a whole ten years ago so time really has been marching on. And as time goes on, so does the increase in food, at least that is how things feel and this receipt was certainly proof of that.

The order from way back then was 2 chicken bowls, a chicken burrito and guacamole. Guess how much all that costed... $21.45 before tax and $23.49 after tax.

Chipotle regulars have basically been left stunned and upset at such low prices compared to today.

One Reddit user commented: “I was gonna say, 'inflation, what inflation? that chicken bowl costs the same today as it did 10 years ago!' then I saw the receipt was for 2 chicken bowls. Insert crying emoji here.”

Another said: “2 bowls and a burrito for 20 bucks, now it’s $14 for one bowl, imma cry.”

While a third person added: “Those bowls 10 years ago probably also were way bigger. Don’t forget shrinkflation.”

And another commented: “I would go to chipotle in the 2010’s because they’ll stuff it til the tortilla rips. Last time I want the gave me 4.25 cubes of steak and that s*** was like $18.”

With another simply writing: “The prices make me wanna cry.”

One commenter worked out just how much more expensive that same order would be now.

Using the menu prices from the same Chipotle in Chicago, a Chicken bowl would now be $9.50 each instead of $6.50, Guacamole would be $2.75 and a chicken burrito would be $9.35.

The user commented that this would be $30.80 before tax, which works out roughly to 43.58% increase in cost.

Ouch, anyone chopping onions?
