Erika Kirk has sent a message to people who were 'laughing' at the killing of her husband far-right activist Charlie Kirk.
Kirk was known for his hardline views on topics including the US Civil Rights act, which he called a 'mistake', immigration, women's reproductive rights, LGBTQ+ rights, and gun ownership.
On 10 September 2025, he was shot dead by a single bullet at Utah Valley University while addressing a question from the audience about gun crime in the US.
The wake of Kirk's death saw the far-right campaign organization Turning Point USA, which Kirk co-founded, stage a large memorial event including speeches from President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance, as well as his wife Erika Kirk.

Kirk's views and activism led to widespread controversy in how his death was received in the US and around the world.

Speaking to CBS News, Erika Kirk tearfully condemned people she accused of 'laughing' at Kirk's death.
She said: "You're SICK. He's a human being. You think he deserved that? Tell that to my 3-year-old daughter...excuse me."
Erika added: "You wanna watch the high-res the video of my husband being murdered? And laugh? And say he deserves it?
"There's something very sick in your soul and I pray that God saves you. I pray, because that is what is so wrong. The internet in this world has dehumanized us."
Since her husband's death, Erika Kirk has taken on the role of CEO at Turning Point USA, and has vowed to 'complete his vision’.
In a post on Twitter, the organization wrote: “We will not surrender or kneel before evil. We will carry on.
"The attempt to destroy Charlie’s work will become our chance to make it more powerful and enduring than ever before."

Two days after Kirk's death, authorities announced that they had arrested suspect Tyler Robinson in connection with the fatal shooting.
Robinson, 22, has now been charged with seven offences including aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.
The full charge list includes aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury, obstruction of justice, two counts of witness tampering, and commission of a violent offense in the presence of a child.
Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray has said previously that prosecutors will be seeking the death penalty in the case.
Gray said previously: "I do not take this decision lightly."
Robinson is currently being held in police custody without bail.
