People aren’t convinced the police should have done what they did in this viral clip.
CCTV ends up capturing the oddest things now and again, and it just managed to capture a rather weird end to a police chase.
A driver went to drastic measures to escape from police in Seattle earlier this week.

Detective Brian Pritchard spoke to the media and said that on Wednesday, September 17, at around 12:20 p.m. local time, the Seattle Police Department came across a stolen Audi Q5 near 10th Avenue East and Roanoke Street and began pursuing the vehicle.
In a rather dramatic turn of events, the traffic camera caught footage of the car driving on the wrong side of the road on the University Bridge in an attempt to avoid stopped vehicles.
Despite the raised bridge, the driver continued through the guard barrier and jumped the gap. After the car jumped the bridge, police cars stopped by the broken barrier and got out to assess the situation, much to the frustration of some people online.
The suspect's car safely made it across and there appeared to be no injuries inflicted on anyone else, but it has got people on social media all saying the same thing.
That is pretty much something straight out of a movie or classic cop show like Starsky and Hutch.

Viewers found the whole situation hilarious and commented jokes on the footage of the clip as it started to spread on social media platforms.
One user wrote: “Guess they never watched Smokey and the Bandit or The Dukes of Hazzard? You're supposed to jump too, officers!”
Another added: “Man that cop missed the chance of a lifetime!!! He would've had a great story for the grandkids lmao.”
With a third joking: “Definitely Seattle's version of "Gone in 60 seconds", a hardcore camper heading out to the mountains in a AWD hybrid doing 30 Mph to jump a bridge that is only lifted 4ft.”

While another simply commented: “One of the greatest getaways I've ever seen, live. Smokey and the Bandit takes it to Ballard!”
Detective Pritchard issued a comment about the police not jumping the bridge, seemingly aware of people’s upcoming complaints.
He said: “It’s not the movies. We’d never do anything like that.”

The stolen vehicle was later found abandoned near Pasadena Place Northeast and Northeast 42nd Street in the University District.
The suspect managed to evade officers, however.
