A body has been found in the search of a missing New York man, who disappeared last month while visiting Turks and Caicos with his wife.
Brian Tarrence was last seen on surveillance footage leaving his rental property at the Paradise Inn in Grace Bay at approximately 3:30 am local time on June 25, News 12 Westchester reports.
The 51-year-old had traveled to the vacation spot with his wife, Maria, on June 21, and they had planned to spend a week there to celebrate their anniversary, with them being set to leave on June 29.
However, in an unexplainable turn, the New Yorker was last seen walking toward the downtown area of the island, and he hasn’t been seen again since.

Now, it has been revealed that a 'deceased male' has been found on the Grace Bay area.
According to the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), officers who were searching for Brian on July 5 'discovered the body of a deceased male in a state of decomposition' at approximately 9:06 am local time.
"Approximately 9:06 a.m. on Saturday, July 5th, 2025, officers of the Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force (RTCIPF), whilst conducting a search operation in the Grace Bay Police Districts, discovered the body of a deceased male in a state of decomposition," police penned in a statement.

"The scene has been secured, and all appropriate partner agencies have been notified."
While the officers have not identified the body by official means, the RTCIPF said it would reveal updates after the ID process had been successful and from there, the next of kin would be informed of the death of their loved one.
"The Royal Turks and Caicos Islands Police Force extends sincere condolences to the family and friends of the deceased," Acting Commissioner of Police Rodney Adams said.
"We urge members of the public to refrain from speculation and allow the investigative process to confirm the identity through official channels."

Private investigator Carl DeFazio, who is currently working with the man's family, previously told PEOPLE that the couple's vacation had started ‘like normal’ at the Grace Bay area.
But he noted something ‘bizarre’ about Brian’s last moments, which were caught on camera.
The surveillance footage showed him with his phone in his hand and his wallet on his body as he walked down the street.

Even though his wallet has not been recovered, no charges have been made to his account, as per the detective, and no calls have been made on his phone.
“They seemed to be having a normal couple of days, and he ended up walking out of his condo, which is in a very safe place and in the middle of Grace Bay Road,” DeFazio told Fox News.
“We have him on camera, and he walks into town, and then he basically disappears, and we haven't heard from him since."
DeFazio told Fox that Brian is a ‘smart guy’, adding ‘we don't know what's in his mind or if he did this on his own or if somebody took him in’.

While it is unknown who the deceased male body belongs to, the RTCIPF has been urging anyone with information to come forward to their officers, or to Crime Stoppers, at 1-800-8477 (TIPS) or the P3 mobile app and report their findings.
