A woman has sparked outrage online after using a flashing charger on a six-hour red-eye flight.

While the debate surrounding travel etiquette heats up in the summer as many jet off for their holidays, it certainly doesn't go away in the colder months.

People do still get on planes in winter after all!

One of the biggest debates when it comes to plane etiquette is reclining seats, and what camp you sit in when it comes to this pretty divisive topic.

However, a brighter matter has been causing a lot discussion online thanks to a video posted to Reddit this weekend.

The viral clip sees a multi-colored charger being used by a passenger on an overnight flight.

As a result, the charger sticks out like a sore thumb, as other travellers try to get a bit of kip before landing at their destination.

"This woman’s charger in my row during a 6+ hour red eye flight," a passenger sat close to the woman penned on Reddit.

The post has gain a lot of attention on the social forum site, with many flocking to the comments section to provide their reaction to the dazzling device.

The video has sparked outrage.

"There’s like 20 ways you could use this cable stealthily in that scenario though. Like just feeding the cable through a sweater or a shirt so the flashing is hidden," one user suggested.

"I have one and I love it but I use it at home. Why anyone would want to draw attention to themselves with it is beyond me especially while blatantly disturbing people on a flight," a second added.

"So you ripped open the emergency exit door at 30k feet didn't you? I don't blame you. I'd do the same," a third wrote.

"I have never even considered the possibility of a cable doing that. Thanks, I hate it. And her," someone else bluntly added.

It's not the first time a video of something bright on a flight has gone viral.

Last year, footage of a light-up hat hit the headlines for the wrong reasons.

The video shows a group of passengers trying to settle down on a late-night flight with low lights on before the camera pans over to a child wearing a hat blasting out pretty much every color you can think of.

It's clear the reaction from the people on board wasn't the greatest as they tried to get some shut-eye on the overnight flight.
