A cruise passenger on a nine-month trip has revealed what it's actually like to live onboard a ship.

With one couple deciding to live onboard a cruise permanently after finding it's cheaper than paying a mortgage on a house and others hopping onboard to strip off and live their best wild and naked lives, it's not uncommon decision these days for people to up sticks and set sail in search of a better life. But is it all as glamorous and freeing as they're making it out to be?

Well, a TikToker called Angie Linderman is currently onboard a nine-month cruise called 'The Ultimate World Cruise' on the Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas.

The traveller has made several videos about how to keep her cabin organized, what she has packed, what is essential to travel with and so much more, viewers have been vicariously living through her journey.

In one clip, she talks about what you have to take with you when doing this kind of thing and captioned it: “Take a more in-depth look at my cabin and what I have done to make it feel like home for the next nine months on Royal Caribbean’s Serenade of the Seas.”

She said: “On the bathroom door I've got extra toiletries, there are miscellaneous items like band aids, masks, bug stuff, lotions, sunscreens.

“Kind of organised, and then I've just got my sunglasses and other random things in here at the moment.

“The wardrobe is pretty well organised because of these hanging things that make you have a lot more hangers. I bought my own hangers and then they provided us with plastic and wooden ones.”

So, what are some of the things she has packed?

The things that Angie packed with her include jewellery, hats, a calendar, weather appropriate clothing, a towel, scarves, dry bags, hot water bottle, fins and a snorkel…

But, she was also well-prepared for Christmas time.

Angie even packed gifts and wrapping paper, adding: “Up here is Christmas stuff, electronic stuff, food and snacks I brought, including these two boxes of chocolate that are Christmas presents.

“Over here on the coach chair area, I have my journal and my binder for the trip that held all my excursion and visa information, my little photo printer, a couple sudoku books, pens and stickers.”

However, it’s not all fun and games as sometimes Angie has had to come up against things like cancelled ports, delays.

But after Angie was told that she is a carrier for possible breast cancer in the future, she is adamant that she didn’t want to wait until retirement to do something so incredible.
