Warning: this article discusses the death of a child which some readers may find distressing.

Emilie Kiser has shared a devastating update on her grief journey, following the death of her three-year-old son, Trigg.

In May, Trigg tragically died after falling into the family's swimming pool.

Police were called to the home on May 12 and administered CPR on the young boy before he was taken to hospital. Sadly, Trigg died a few days later, with Sonu Wasu, CPD's public information officer, stating: "Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with the child's family and loved ones during this unimaginable time.”

Kiser recently returned to social media, thanking fans for the ‘love and compassion’ they’d shown her, following Trigg's death.

“I am sharing the moments that I can bear to film and that I want to film, because it kind of helps me step out of my reality for a second, and do my job, which I very much enjoy. I genuinely enjoy content creation. That’s why I do it," she said at the time.

Kiser has since shared an update on her grief, explaining how the start of December and the reminder of the Christmas traditions she shared with her son has been devastating.

She wrote online: "To be honest I don't think I anticipated how sad social media was going to make me this month.

"I prepared myself for things in my personal life, but not for what I'd see every time I opened my phone.

"I know I'm in control and I know there are things I can do to protect my mental health.

"I've gotten good at staying off my phone and not scrolling, but seeing so many moms doing Elf on the Shelf is giving me such painful flashbacks of memories and traditions we loved so much.

"I honestly forgot today was December 1st and that last night would kick off the Christmas wave."

Kiser went on to explain that her youngest, Teddy, is currently too young to understand certain traditions.

"Teddy is too young for me to do things like the Elf this year, and honestly, I just don't have it in me.

"These are the moments where grief makes everything feel heavy and confusing.

"Last December was so different, so special, and so full of Trigg.

"This year, and every year from now on, won't feel the same. It can still be special in its own way, but never the same."

Kiser and her husband, Brady, welcomed their second son, Teddy, in March this year.
