Shocking CCTV footage has been released that allegedly shows a Dallas Taco Bell staff member throwing 'boiling hot water' over customers.

On 17 June, two customers entered the fast food restaurant after their $30 drive-thru order was incorrectly made twice in a row.

Taco Bell staff members are alleged to have become combative before the general manager filled a see-through jug with 'boiling water' in the kitchen, walked over to the counter where the customers were waiting and threw it at them.

Watch the CCTV footage below:

The manager then appeared to fill a second jug with hot water, however the victims fled the restaurant before she re-emerged from the kitchen.

On 13 July, the victims filed a lawsuit seeking $1,000,000 in damages. The suit claims that both women (Brittany Davis and a minor referred to as C.T.) suffered ‘large and deep burns’.

The lawsuit, filed by attorneys Ben Crump and Paul Grinke, also claims that Davies was airlifted to Parkland’s ICU unit and suffered ten seizures on the way to hospital.

A segment of the lawsuit alleges that ‘Brittany Davis and C.T. (a minor), who both suffered severe burns and trauma when a Dallas (TX) Taco Bell manager poured boiling water on them as they tried to resolve an issue with their order’.

The defendants named in the lawsuit are Yum! Brands, Taco Bell Corp., Taco Bell of America, Taco Bell #22872, North Texas Bells and two employees.

The CCTV footage was first released on 22 July and of the video, Crump said: “The actions of Taco Bell employees and manager in this incident are callous, outrageous, and inexcusable.”

Crump added: “This tragic and violent incident that has caused customers, one being a child, life-altering burns and psychological damage over a taco order raises questions about Taco Bell’s hiring and vetting process, as well as their training procedures relating to resolving disputes with customers.”

He went on: “Brittany and C.T. barely escaped this nightmare of an establishment with their lives and will have to live with the damage done here forever.

“There needs to be a deep and thorough investigation as to why these employees were so violent and why employees had a firearm on the property of Taco Bell.”

Taco Bell told UNILAD in a statement: "Everyone deserves to feel safe in Taco Bell restaurants.

"We take this very seriously and are working with our local franchisee to investigate. Due to pending litigation, we are unable to comment further on the specifics of the incident."
