Have you heard of the Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory?

On Sunday, the Kansas City Chiefs will take on the Philadelphia Eagles at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, no doubt hoping to secure a third consecutive Super Bowl crown.

For the last few years, people have become increasingly convinced by a theory claiming that the Super Bowl logo accurately depicts who will face-off in the game.

So, how did this all come about?

What is the Super Bowl logo theory?

According to the theory, the colours in the Super Bowl logo - which is designed way before the playoffs - represents who will compete in the championships.

For example, this year, the logo has colors of red and green, which people think represent the Kansas City Chiefs and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Back in 2022, the logo was orange and yellow, which matched up to the Cincinnati Bengals and the Los Angeles Rams.

Meanwhile, in 2023, people argued the green and red logo coincided with the Eagles and the Chiefs once again.

How did the theory begin?

Originally, the logos were pretty much the same each year, but in 2022, this changed, and the logo featured hues of orange and yellow.

At the time, people didn't think too much of it, until the same happened the following year, and again in 2025.

Has there been any exceptions?

Yes, in 2024, the logo featured purple and red colors, which didn't correspond to the teams competing - the Chiefs and San Fransisco 49ers.

Despite a lot of speculation, fans have mixed views on the theory, with one person writing on X: "If people still the Super Bowl logo conspiracy theory is real, I will remind you of last year's logo which has purple similar to the Ravens shade of purple prominently featured as well as a shade of red similar to the 49ers."

While another said: "I think it was right like once, and now people think it happens every year I guess."

And a third added: "THE SUPER BOWL LOGO THEORY IS REAL. IT HAS BEEN RIGHT EVERY YEAR."

And a fourth added: "A conspiracy theory I can believe. I think I saw a post from very early in the season that predicted the Super Bowl would be Chiefs v Eagles based on the logo’s colors because the Super Bowl logo weirdly includes both teams colors every year."
