The cousin of the stars of the popular reality TV show, 1000-lb Sisters, tragically passed away last week, and Tammy Slaton has now broken her silence.
Katie Slaton died last Monday (August 25) at the age of 37, just months after having been diagnosed with stage four stomach cancer.
Fans will recall Katie featuring heavily on season five of the popular TLC show, which followed Tammy's journey at a weight loss rehab center.

Announcing her death, Katie's cousin Amanda Halterman - who is also the sister of the reality stars Tammy and Amy Slaton - posted on Instagram: "It is with a completely crushed heart and spirit that I have to post this. My little cousin went to sit at the feet of Jesus yesterday.

"She was a force to be reckoned with and showed love that was accepting and given freely. She was the life of the party and my best friend.
"Please pray for everyone who loves her. Thank you all who has come out and supported her. #cancerscks."

Now, Tammy, who has not addressed the death of her cousin online, has broken her social media silence as she posted a video on TikTok depicting her dancing and singing with her fiancée Andrea in the car.
In the video, the pair were laughing as 'Footloose' by Kenny Loggins blasted from the stereo and Tammy can be heard saying to her partner: "I look awful."
However, the star did not mention her late cousin.
A GoFundMe page was set up in January for Katie, with the aim of raising $100,000.

Sharing the fundraiser at the time, Tammy wrote: "Y’all I'm so sorry to be asking a big favor like this but if anyone can help, even if it’s a dollar would help my cousin out so much.
"She has been on my show but this is something new. Our family just found out about her having cancer."

She added: "Our fans have been there for us for so long now and y’all mean the world so any act of kindness is and will be greatly appreciated.
"Thank you so much and before anyone asks, yes I’ve donated myself."
Following Katie's passing, an online obituary posted on Whitsell Funeral Home's website read: "Katie Slaton, age 37 of Madisonville, KY passed away Monday August 25, 2025 at Linda White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
"She was born September 17, 1987 in Morganfield, KY to Jerry & Frances Slaton. She enjoyed fishing, music, and hanging out with family and friends."
