"100 men vs one gorilla: Who would win?" - YouTuber MrBeast may have seemingly suggested testing it out, but not if animal rights organization PETA has anything to do with it.

Ah yes, who doesn't love being flung back into the good old days of the internet? Where people took to sites such as Reddit to ask the most random and bizarre questions which popped into their brains, sending it out into the ether and entering into heated debate with others across the globe.

And rather than using the powers of technology to spread awareness and try and solve serious issues, why not use the internet to generate suggestions for hypothetical situations such as whether 100 men could take on one gorilla eh?

Always one to jump on the latest and often most wild viral craze, MrBeast clearly couldn't help himself but take to Twitter to call on his followers addressing the most recent question to have plagued the internet.

On April 28, MrBeast took to Elon Musk's platform to share a screenshot of what looks like one of his typical YouTube video covers - his face, edited on top of a gorilla, alongside piles of men looking ready for a fight.

The title of the piece reads: "100 Men vs a Gorilla" It also says: "9.9M views. 5 hours ago."

MrBeast's caption reads: "Need 100 men to test this, any volunteers?"

You can argue it's not April Fools, but it's also not like MrBeast hasn't conducted some other pretty wild challenges - we're talking about a man who recreated a version of Squid Game here. UNILAD has contacted MrBeast for comment.

Either way, People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is certainly not taking any chances.

The organization responded to MrBeast's post writing: "100 men vs. a gorilla? Maybe try 100 reasons to leave animals out of your content instead…"

But how did this all come about in the first place?

Well, one of the first reported instances of the question appearing online is via a Reddit thread aptly titled r/whowouldwin.

A user took to the thread five years ago to ask fellow internet users: "100 men versus one silverback gorilla."

The user continued: "Now this question has been posed many times with many different numbers of men, but let’s get some fresh perspective.

"Men stats: your average run of the mill dude who drinks at least one 30 rack weekly (preferably bud light). The tallest one is 6’5 the smallest is 5’8 ranging from 145lbs-260lbs. No one trained in any fighting or anything, manual labor or overseeing the manual labor is all these guys know. No weapons

"Gorilla: he’s ticked off, his manager told him all 100 of these dudes were responsible for killing Harambe (RIP it’s been awhile since I’ve typed that name). Before the fight the gorilla can be seen running back and forth pounding its chest yelling I don’t know what but I can tell it’s vulgar."

And the user has certainly given MrBeast some ideas when it comes to testing the question out...

They continued: "Round 1: location gorilla exhibit, men can only send 2 at a time at the gorilla. Ends by KO or death.

"Round 2: location construction site. Neither the gorilla or the men are allowed to use beams or other tools as a weapon. Send however many you want at a time. Ends in KO or death.

"Round 3: location that floating ring you would play boxing on in monkey ball. This will be performed in 10 waves of 10 men. The gorilla will be positioned in the middle while the 10 try to get him off the ring in a royal rumble of sorts. Ends only by getting opponent off ring.

"Bonus round: uh oh it’s a rampage the entire world is after this gorilla but he’s got the help of 1 Dwayne the rock Johnson. Will he survive. (In this scenario it wouldn’t be a mutant huge gorilla named George) no rules, weapons allowed."

UNILAD has contacted PETA for comment.
