Being trapped at sea with 2,000 naked people could be your idea of a great time, or your worst nightmare. But some regular passengers on nude cruises have revealed that this nakedness on the high seas might not be what you expect.
While nude cruising on land will often involve hanging around a public bathroom, thousands of people participate in sea-based cruises for nudists every year - and the two could not be more different.
People who frequent these cruises try very hard to dispel the notion that they are walking around in the nude for sexual reasons. You can even land yourself in serious hot water if you get aroused while at the ship's buffet.
One veteran nude cruiser has shared what it was like to take part in a 2,000-person nude cruise with specialist provider Bare Necessities, which cost them around $2500 for seven days of sun, sea, and saggy bits.

The passenger spoke about the flesh-filled trip on Reddit but rather than telling all about their experience, the user allowed others to ask all sorts of questions.
They explained they're 'an experienced nudist' and subsequently were 'very comfortable from the beginning' of the trip.
However, I can imagine things getting a little awkward if someone got a bit too energised by all the naked bodies around them.
One person asked: "Maybe not specific to the cruise, but nudism in general... I'm assuming boners just happen, since it happens in everyday clothed life, too. Are they frowned upon or just accepted in this environment?"
The original poster responded, noting in their experience, boners 'almost never happen'.
"This cruise is very non-sexual, so a man would want to hide it somehow. Non-nudists think about this a lot more than nudists do," they said.
Another user added: "What was the rule for boners?"
And the user reiterated: "As I said above, this is something that non-nudists worry about a lot more than nudists. I’ve been a nudist for ten years and I’ve almost never seen one.
"Since this cruise is not a sex-positive event, the man would be expected to conceal it."

If the 'nudist thing is not sexual in nature at all', another user questioned, then 'what is it for?'
Well, the nudist cruise passenger questions whether the user has ever gone 'skinny dipping,' noting it's 'great' to be nude when doing activities such as swimming, dancing, and walking solo on the beach, or at least, that's the 'main thing' for them about the experience.
The user resolved: "If I’m candid, I don’t mind seeing naked women, so that’s nice too.
"It’s the same reason men don’t wear shirts to go swimming or on the beach. It’s a great feeling. I’m sure some people have an exhibitionist thrill, but I don’t.
"Also, I’m not sure that a naked person among 2,000 naked people could be considered an exhibitionist."

Another Redditor explained that yes, the staff keep their clothes on, and in the dining room and at buffets everyone is clothed.
The social media user said: "After 6pm, there was a strange mix of nude, normally dressed, and women dressed in sexy clothes, like see-through blouses."
You also can't get naked until you're far enough away from land. Usually, the captain makes an announcement to signal it's OK to undress.
He also added that everyone is very careful when it comes to photographs, adding: "Almost no one had phones with them outside their cabin."
Does this sound like your kind of fun?
