Joining the Mile High Club has become something of a trope, but it might land you in hot water.
Having sex on a plane is a hugely talked about fantasy, despite being extremely unappealing if you think about it for more than a few seconds.
It's hard to imagine somewhere less sexy than a cramped, stale, and dirty plane toilet that smells of disinfectant and the last person who used it.
Combine that with the fact that everyone will see the pair of you go in and come out together, so it's hardly possible to be discreet.

Nonetheless, that doesn't stop many people from trying it, right up until the inevitable knock on the door from a flight attendant who's seen it all before and is thoroughly unamused.
But just how much trouble could you get in for trying to do the deed at 30,000ft?

Well, it depends on the policy of the airline that you're flying with.

Mandy Smith is a flight attendant who published Cabin Fever: The Sizzling Secrets of a Virgin Air Hostess, where she goes into detail about behind the scenes of working on a plane.
Speaking to LADbible Stories, she revealed that while people attempting to join the Mile High Club is a regular occurrence it's perhaps not as common as you might think.
"I would say one in twenty or thirty flights," she said. "Not really that often."
As for what actually happens if, or let's face it when, you're caught, this can depend on several factors.

"If it's on a night flight and they're being discreet, I probably wouldn't even interrupt them if I'm honest," said Mandy.
Nonetheless, she explained there are times where that's very much not the case, saying: "It's worse when you've got children on board and it's in the daytime."
Some airlines might take a dim view of such behavior, particularly if someone keeps trying after being told to stop.

Trying to join the Mile High Club may also land you in legal trouble as having sex in public is illegal in many jurisdictions.
Of course, this would depend where you're flying to and from, but people have ended up in legal hot water over the Mile High Club.

In July this year Fox News reported on Christopher Arnold, 42, and Trista Reilly, 43, a couple who ended up in jail and being charged with 'lewd and lascivious exhibition' after other passengers, including children, saw them trying to join the Mile High Club on a flight from John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York to Sarasota Bradenton International Airport in Florida.

If all this still isn't enough to make you think twice and you just can't get past the desire to join the Mile High Club, then there is another option which might be slightly more appealing than a toilet and far less likely to get you in serious trouble.
The service is called 'Love Cloud Vegas' and operates out of Las Vegas, where else, with a plane which has been specially fitted out with plenty of cushions and pillows for passengers to 'enjoy the ride'.
