Post Malone Wishes Autistic Fan Happy 21st Birthday In Sweet Video

The rapper bumped into the young fan while out at a restaurant

Post Malone made a fan's day after going over to wish him a happy birthday while out at a restaurant.

Andrew Schumacher, who has autism, was out with his family at Matsuhisa in Beverly Hills to celebrate his 21st birthday on 11 March.

And while they say you should never meet your heroes, that certainly wasn't the case for Andrew, who was over the moon when he bumped into the rapper.

Watch their encounter below:

In a video that has since been shared widely on social media, Post can be seen shaking hands with Andrew, who is sat down.

"Nice to meet you," Post Malone could be heard saying to the young fan.

His mum, Nicole, then tells the singer he is celebrating his 21st and had just enjoyed 'his first beer tonight'.

"Ya?" asks Post. "What kind of beer you get? That’s a tough choice. Not for me but… "

Nicole then says: "He has autism and knows all of your songs", to which the 'Better Now' singer says: "Dude, thank you for listening. That’s so sweet and nice to meet you."

"Have fun dude, but not too much fun", he added.

Nicole revealed to FOX 11 later that she had asked her son if he knew who Post was when he saw him walking into the restaurant.

Andrew replied, 'Austin', which is the singer's real name.

"I wasn't sure if that was his real name until he walked over to our table to introduce himself," the mum recalled.

Speaking to the outlet about the encounter, Nicole thanked him for being so nice to Andrew and taking the time to speak to him.

She said: "He was so incredibly kind and patient with our son who has autism. Andrew has a hard time speaking and Austin was so natural and sweet with him."

Since the footage was posted on social media, Post has been praised by fans for his gesture.

Commenting on the video, one person said: "Love this! And love that you took him for his first legal drink!"

Another wrote: "Love love love this! Post Malone is the best!"

"Every time I have met this man he has been the realest person ever! Post Malone is a national treasure! So happy for your son," put a third, while another added: "I love this!"
