President Donald Trump has slammed a veteran journalist for 'not being very nice' after he was advised that a photograph he was referring to was heavily photoshopped.

During a sit down with ABC News' former Nightline co-anchor Terry Moran, the 78-year-old Republican appeared to show his age as he was adamant that a photograph of depicting the knuckles of the deported father Kilmar Armando Ábrego García with the writing 'M S 1 3' was real.

Last month, the Maryland man was among 250 people to have been mass deported to the Center for Terrorism Confinement (CECOT), which is considered to be the 'world's worst prison'.

Following his exile, the Trump administration admitted that it had made an 'admin error' which was to blame for García being flown to the Central American country.

Taking to Truth Social, Trump shared a picture of himself holding a photo of what he claims to be García's hand, although the 'evidence' he supplied appears to be a fake - with the writing 'M S 1 3' allegedly 'tattooed' on his knuckles appearing to be the work of Photoshop.

If you compare it with the photograph (below) shared of García by the President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, there doesn't appear to be ink with the writing 'M S 1 3' on his hand.

Now, during a fiery interview, Trump touched on the García's deportation.

"When we have criminals, murderers, criminals in this country we have to get them out, and we're doing it. You'll pick out one man but even the man that you picked out he said he wasn't a member of a gang and then they looked and on his knuckles - he had MS-13," he claimed.

Moran replied: "There's a dispute with that."

Adamant, Trump insisted: "Wait a minute, wait a minute. He had MS-13 on his knuckles tattooed."

Moran responded: "He had some tattoos that were interpreted that way, but let's move on."

"Wait a minute. Hey Terry, Terry, Terry. Don't do that. It says MS-13," Trump interjected.

Then when Moran explained it appeared to be the work of Photoshop, Trump replied: "That was photoshopped? Terry you can't do that. They're giving you the big break of a lifetime. You know you're doing the interview I picked you because frankly I never heard of you but that's okay. But I picked you."

Laughing it off, Terry replied: "I knew this would come."

"Terry... but you're not being very nice. He had MS-13 tattooed. Terry, Terry do you want me to show you the picture?" asked the president.

"I saw the picture," replied Moran.

Trump questioned him: "And you think it was photoshopped? Don't Photoshop it, go look at his hand.

"No, no, Terry, Terry. No, no he had MS as clear as you can be, not interpreted. This is why people no longer believe the news because it is fake news.

"Terry, he has MS-13 on his knuckles. Okay? You do such a disservice, why don't you just say 'yes he does' and go onto something else."
