A lip reader has lifted the lid on the 'ominous' warning Donald Trump gave to French president Emmanuel Macron at the peace summit in Egypt.
Several world leaders joined the US president during what he called a 'historic day' at the Sharm El-Sheikh summit on Monday (October 13), where a peace deal and the first phase of the ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas were signed.
During the momentous occasion, President Trump shook hands with his French counterpart, with whom he's had some rather uncomfortably long handshakes in the past.
This one was clearly no different, as viewers could see the pair clasp hands in what looked more like a wrestling 'death grip' than a friendly greeting between the world leaders.

Now, an expert has said Trump and Macron also shared a tense exchange of words amid the painfully long handshake.

Lip reader Nicola Hickling told the Daily Mail that the greeting appeared to turn sour as the 79-year-old Republican suggested Macron had 'hurt' him.
"Nice to see you, so you agreed?" the POTUS allegedly said to Macron, 47, who then turned away for a photograph while muttering something inaudible.

"Are you being genuine?", Trump followed up, to which Macron supposedly replied: "Of course."
The US president then tightened his grip as he reportedly said: "Okay, so now I want to know why, you hurt me. I already know," and squeezed his hand again.
While it remains unclear what the context of the conversation was about, it comes just weeks after Macron mocked Trump when meeting several other EU world leaders during a summit in Copenhagen.
On October 2, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev and Macron were heard giggling about Trump's geographical blunders after he recently confused Armenia with Albania.

Hickling then suggested that the meeting in Egypt took a darker turn as Trump appeared to issue a dark warning to the French president.
"I am making peace," he said, while Macron replied: "Ah, come on."
"I only hurt those who hurt others," Trump then appeared to jibe back while pointing towards the cameras.

"I see. We will have to see about that," Macron allegedly replied before issuing an ominous warning of his own: "You will see what is about to happen."
"I’d like to see you do it, do it. I’ll see you in a bit," Trump concluded.
The apparently heated exchange comes as Trump hailed the peace deal as the answer to the 'prayers of millions'.
The ceasefire in Gaza brings an end to more than two years of relentless bloodshed, as well as the release of all Israeli hostages back to their families.

However, Trump stopped short of saying whether or not the agreement could lead to a Palestinian state.

"We're talking about rebuilding Gaza," he told reporters. "I'm not talking about single state or double state or two-state. We're talking about the rebuilding of Gaza."
Instead, his 'board of peace' proposes the creation of a transitional authority for the territory, chaired by Trump.

"We've achieved what everybody said was impossible, at long last, we have peace in the Middle East," the 79-year-old rejoiced.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also praised Trump as Israel's 'greatest friend' when the POTUS visited Jerusalem.
"After so many years of unceasing war and endless danger, today the skies are calm, the guns are silent and the sirens are still," he said.
