The British government issued an advisory on how to prepare for a worldwide emergency and shared which items you should have in your household.

Conflicts taking place across the globe aren't new, but people have undeniably developed heightened fears of a third world war breaking out as more and more battles commence.

The latest war to start is between Iran, Israel, and the US. On February 28, America and Israel issued air strikes on the Tehran, the capital of Iran, specifically targeting the home of Ali Khameini.

The blast successfully killed Khameini and other members of his family.

The three countries have continue to exchange blows with one another ever since, with Iran targeting its retaliation on countries like the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Kuwait, who have ties to the US.

The latest development has seen US forces attack Kharg Island, which Donald Trump says has been 'totally obliterated'.

The Iranian government had forewarned that its islands should be left alone, so it's likely that America's actions will spark yet more retaliation.

Meanwhile, the UK has somewhat been dragged into the war by agreeing to let the US military use British airbases.

As the UK is often roped into world affairs in some shape or form, the British government have a 'Prepare' campaign.

In a statement issued last year as part of the country's National Security Strategy, Prime Minister Keir Starmer expressed concerns about nuclear warfare in particular.

Part of it read: "The threat to the UK and our allies from nuclear weapons is once again growing.

"Tackling this challenge is likely to be more complex than it was even in the Cold War, with more states with more nuclear weapons, the further proliferation of nuclear and disruptive technology, and the failure of international arms control arrangements to keep pace."

Now, I'm sure we can all agree that we do not want WW3 to happen (whether that be a nuclear war or not), but should you be someone that's particularly worried about this daunting prospect, there are things you can be doing to prepare.

Per the UK government's 'Prepare' campaign, it advises what to do should you experience a power cut in an emergency (i.e WW3). One unexpected item that people have been urged to invest in is a wind-up radio.

"There might be updates communicated by radio during a power cut," says the UK government.

"A car radio can be used, however in severe weather it might be safer to stay inside.

"Write down on paper the frequencies of any local or national radio stations you use for news updates."

While you're purchasing all things wind-up, it's advised that you get your hands on a wind-up torch too.
