A mother who decided to undergo a full body scan ‘for fun’ ended up having to have an organ removed.

Health trends are all the rage right now, and one has been seen in the celebrity world too - an MRI machine to detect issues ahead of time.

A mom who wanted to get peace of mind decided to do it too, but she came away with a lot more than she bargained for.

Sara Blackburn, a Texan, purely wanted to do the MRI with Prenuvo because she wanted to ensure that she was healthy.

However, after the initial glow wore off, she was shocked to learn that she had a hidden, life-threatening condition.

Blackburn paid the firm $2,500 and explained in a TikTok video what happened when she was given her results.

She said in the clip which has nearly 3 million views: “I just thought [the scan] will give me peace of mind.”

She added: “It really did feel like a spa day. Until it didn't.”

Prenuvo claims be able to detect cancer and other diseases years before symptoms begin to present.

For Blackburn, it did exactly as it explained it would, but it meant that her whole life changed within moments.

According to the mom, she was diagnosed with a splenic artery aneurysm.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a splenic artery aneurysm is ‘a bulging, weakened section of the artery that supplies blood to your spleen and parts of your pancreas and stomach’.

It states: “Many people have no symptoms, but a common symptom is pain in the upper left side of your belly.”

This rare condition could have been left undetected had Blackburn not chosen to undergo a voluntary MRI, and had it been left, the bulge could have ruptured and caused severe internal bleeding and extreme pain.

Blackburn shared on TikTok that one in three cases do not survive a rupture if left without prompt medical attention.

She went on to explain the whole ordeal, detailing that it was ‘just for fun’.

She said: “This is a story about how I had a full body MRI just for fun—no symptoms whatsoever.

“And how I am now scheduled to have an organ removed in two weeks.”

Blackburn revealed that it was a scheduled trip for both her and her husband, and the pair were going to make a ‘trip of it’ as they had to travel four hours from Houston to Dallas to have the MRI completed.

Their scans were booked for November 14, and they were a ‘great experience’, until hers became serious.

She added: “I was so excited. I don't know what I thought we were going to find, but looking back I think I was certain this was going to give me peace of mind—they were not going find anything serious.”

However, once handed the results, she 'went into a full blow panic attack' and immediately traveled to the closest emergency room 'because I needed a doctor to tell me what this meant'.

“That is how my health anxiety started. It was a really dark and hard two months where I was spiraling and freaking out and seeing a lot of doctors and pretty much treating my body like [it was made of] glass,” she shared. “I had no idea about this and literally felt like a ticking timebomb was found inside my body.”

Sadly, a CT scan found that she had two aneurysms on her splenic artery, and she then made the informed choice to have her spleen removed.

Now, she has had the procedure and is adjusting to life after having such a horrid health scare.
