Kim Kardashian diagnosed with potentially life-threatening condition after brain scan

Season seven of The Kardashians kicked off with a shocking health update for Kim Kardashian as she revealed to her family that medics had found something concerning when she underwent an MRI scan.

The new season of the reality TV show began airing today (October 23), and saw Kim K getting candid about everything from her health to her relationship with Kanye West.

One health update Kim gave during the show was that she's started experiencing psoriasis again, saying: “I haven’t had psoriasis since I got divorced, and it just started coming back.

“I mean, I have psoriasis again. I felt more stressed, probably just because I had to super, super protect what I had to protect.”

Psoriasis is a skin disease that causes red and sometimes itchy patches on the skin, but it's not the only diagnosis that Kim has linked to stress.

Elsewhere in the episode, the Skims founder was chatting with her older sister, Kourtney, about a recent hospital visit in which doctors discovered a 'little' aneurysm in Kim's brain.

The revelation naturally caught Kourtney off guard, as she reacted with shock to her sister's news.

Per the Mayo Clinic, a brain aneurysm is a bulge or ballooning in a blood vessel in the brain, which experts believe grows because blood flowing through the blood vessel puts pressure on a weak area of the vessel wall.

Brain aneurysms are common and most aren't serious, especially if they're small - like Kim suggested her's was.

However, they can become life-threatening if they rupture.

Kim was later seen having an MRI scan on the show, with the businesswoman at one point saying that doctors had informed her the aneurysm was probably triggered by stress.

According to Supreme Vascular, stress does not itself cause a brain aneurysm to form, but it can increase your risk of high blood pressure, which in turn increases your risk of experiencing a brain aneurysm.

The Cleveland Clinic adds that researchers think high blood pressure is the most common cause of a rupture, with ongoing stress being among the situations that can increase blood pressure.

When discussing her more recent health issues, Kim said she had recently felt 'pretty tested' by West, despite filing for divorced in 2021.

She noted: “People think that I have the luxury of walking away. My ex will be in my life no matter what. We have four kids together.”
